THE FACES OF EVIL

i truly believe that both of these men are evil and serve the dark forces. this is no joke. both of them are fanatic right wingers- no liberal counterparts exist on the supreme court to balance their views. scalia sides with the religious right, viewing the constution as a "dead" document. both oppose abortion, gay rights, affirmative action, you name it...

thomas is a disgrace and a dirty liar at best. the man put his hand on a bible and swore to tell the truth during his 1991 senate judiciary committee confirmation hearing that he had never:

1. thought about abortion in his adult life

2. discussed it with any adult

3. had any preconceived notions regarding abortion...

actually, his own sister had an abortion in previous years, he had given an anti-abortion rights speech to the Heritge foundation in previous years, and that he had been a fucking law student at Yale in 1973 when the Roe v. Wade decision was announced and hotly debated all over campus.

BUT THERE ARE MORE COMING FOR US.

this week bush and his buddies try to push through Miguel Estrada into the supreme court. it begins the 26th.

http://www.projecthonduras.com/images/estrada.jpg'>

homeboy is a latino clarence thomas, who will, along with his other two buddies, will serve the right wing extremists for 30+ years should he be approved. HE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE AS A JUDGE, and is widely known for his fanatical right wing views. bush & co have been on a rampage trying to stir up some (as they put it) "hispanic" support for estrada. MY LATINO PEOPLE, please don't be fooled. homeboy has gotten the gas face from even the most moderate of latino politicians, including Jose Serrano and Nydia Velazquez. serrano said, " he wouldn't even acknowledge that there has been discrimination against latinos in america. he seemed lost, like he had never been involved in any struggle to better the lives of hispanics. he had no comprehension of Latino history and suffering." the hispanic caucus, along with the puerto rican legal defense and education fund, has formally opposed estrada's confirmation. the mexican american legal defense fund and other latino civil rights organizations are expected to follow suit.

i'm no zealot. i do not believe that all conservatives are evil, not at all. i appreciate balance. the problem that i have with these justices is that they are extremists. there is no balance in the supreme court and it is becoming worse. these men are liars and worse. they have no right interpreting the law for the people of the united states.

evil is out there doing it's thing. don't doubt it for a minute.

You referred to him as "homeboy", that's wrng and you know it. He's a judge, he the "honorable Homeboy...". I don't like many of his views but on the other hand I really don't want some extreme liberal as a judge. I want there to be a happy medium but until I find that...i'll stick to vandalism.

Good to hear someone politically interested. If youre latino or whatever, please use some enrgy to get minorities and the poor to vote, we need all the help we can get against these rich crackers and fucken malinches and uncle toms. It disgusts mee how Bush acts like just because he has some black faced sellouts in token positions that he cares about civil rights, or human beings at all for that matter.

a few days ago i was reading a white house press conference

transcript and somebody brought up estrada....fleischer basically

said he was an excellent candidate and promptly(i think, its hard

to tell from transcript) moved onto the next question...

he was getting roasted on bush's comments about the democrats

in the senate not passing the homeland security bill becuz they

were concerned more with special interests than the american

publics safety...bush league as usual.

anyhow.......you got any updates on these

highly pedophiliac looking men?

are you all really that suprised bush would try and cram the supreme court with right wing nutjobs? he made that pretty clear just by declaring his stance on abortion....

i have a feeling these next couple of years are going to be a prime example of how easily our goverment can fulfill its agenda....i mean, my god....look at the republicans scrambling for a reason to invade iraq and on top of it all basically telling the world that regardless of what anyone says they will do it anyway...real sorry someone tried to kill daddy...mabey there should be some thought put into the crumbling financial status of our country instead of cheneys private intrests and the presidents personal vendetas...

i guess this is a good time for a "god bless america".....ppppfffhhhhh

Just as a clarification, Estrada was not nominated to the Supreme Court, but rather the DC Appellate Court. It's not the highest court in the land, but as the CNN article mentions, it has historically been a stepping stone to the Supreme Court.

From the article:

"The court, considered one of the most important courts in America, currently has four vacancies and eight active judges: four Republicans and four Democrats. In addition to being a steppingstone to the Supreme Court, it also decides cases that determine how federal agencies regulate topics like gas prices, clean air and water, labor practices and campaign finance reform."

hmmmmmmmm.........ya know a couple of weeks ago, i read a great article on scalia, and although as im sure some of you know im not even close to conservative, i found the article interesting and i found that i agreed with him on certain constitutional renderings.....even when i didnt i found his thought process refreshing, his knowledge of law astounding, and his fiery brand of dissent hysterical.....would i want him as chief justice, oh hell no.....but i do not want a lopsided liberal court either.....the article was all about the cult like following that he has established....anyways i tried to find the article but couldnt....however i found a random website that has some of his opinions.....

from the scalia article...

In Justice Scalia's

Own words

'The enemies of single-sex education have won; by persuading only seven Justices ... that their view of the world is enshrined in the Constitution, they have effectively imposed that view on all 50 states.'

- Dissenting from the court's 7-to-1 decision that forced the Virginia Military Institute to admit women, 1996

'Leaving [religious] accommodation to the political process will place at a relative disadvantage those religious practices that are not widely engaged in; but that unavoidable consequence of democratic government must be preferred to a system in which each conscience is a law unto itself....'

- Writing for the court in a ruling that allows states to forbid native Americans from using peyote for religious purposes, 1990

'It is no more compatible with [states'] independence and autonomy that their [police] officers be dragooned into administering federal law than it would be compatible with the independence and autonomy of the United States that its officers be impressed into service for the execution of state laws.'

- Writing for the majority in a ruling invalidating a US request that local sheriffs check the backgrounds of gun buyers, 1997

In 1996, when the high court had accepted two important "right to die" cases dealing with the practice of euthanasia, Scalia came under fire for giving a speech - while the case was still before the court - in which he said there is "no constitutional right to die."

yikes...

with a justice like this, the last thing i'm worried about is a liberal leaning court

  • 4 months later...

your sexy body go bump bump bump

howdy. he's back.

from the nation online, 1/29

"Tomorrow's Senate Judiciary Committee vote on Miguel Estrada's appointment to the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit, the second most powerful court in the country, is the first of what should be a series of brutal showdowns over rightwing judical activists being appointed by the Bush Administration to the federal bench.

A member of the Federalist Society , a board member of the arch-conservative Center for the Community Interest, and a very partisan Republican, Estrada is widely considered a conservative ideologue who is unwilling to distinguish his personal views from what the law requires.

A diverse coalition of civil rights, women's rights, environmental, pro-choice, worker, consumer and disability rights organizations are all working to oppose Estrada's nomination. The Feminist Majority's statement and ActionAlert is particularly effective.

Urge your senators to vote no on Estrada's nomination to the DC Circuit Court. You can email your elected reps or call your Senators in their Washington, DC office by asking for them specifically at 202-224-3121. And see the Alliance for Justice's Independent Judiciary site for much more information about Estrada and other upcoming Bush Court nominees, including Charles Pickering, Jeffrey Sutton and Priscilla Owen."

think the nation is too lefty, try this NYT article:

Keep Talking About Miguel Estrada

"The Bush administration is missing the point in the Senate battle over Miguel Estrada, its controversial nominee to the powerful D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Democrats who have vowed to filibuster the nomination are not engaging in "shameful politics," as the president has put it, nor are they anti-Latino, as Republicans have cynically charged. They are insisting that the White House respect the Senate's role in confirming judicial nominees. [my emphasis added- tears]

The Bush administration has shown no interest in working with Senate Democrats to select nominees who could be approved by consensus, and has dug in its heels on its most controversial choices. At their confirmation hearings, judicial nominees have refused to answer questions about their views on legal issues. And Senate Republicans have rushed through the procedures on controversial nominees.

Mr. Estrada embodies the White House's scorn for the Senate's role. Dubbed the "stealth candidate," he arrived with an extremely conservative reputation but almost no paper trail. He refused to answer questions, and although he had written many memorandums as a lawyer in the Justice Department, the White House refused to release them.

The Senate Democratic leader, Tom Daschle, insists that the Senate be given the information it needs to evaluate Mr. Estrada. He says there cannot be a vote until senators are given access to Mr. Estrada's memorandums and until they get answers to their questions. The White House can call this politics or obstruction. But in fact it is senators doing their jobs."

This coming from a president who promised not be be partisan and get stuff done. hahahahaha, please. don't me a dude like me get violent...

just so you know... the conservative machine is in motion trying to make sure that estrada gets elected... run an internet search on him and you'll see. dudes are putting out ads in the washington post, on the web, and using the right wing's favorite mechanism, talk radio, to do their dirty work. look out.

check the times article in my post above. the nomination process, and the fillibuster process exists to weed out wackos like this.
