If you're into spoken word, check out Taylor Mali. He's an English teacher from NYC.. I think his website is www.taylormali.com. I usually leave slam poetry to angsty girls, but his shit is really funny and tight.

But does anyone know where I can a copy of his "How to write a political poem" online? I first heard it on Sage's Known Unsoldier. I can't find it online, and my Kazaa isn't working.

    great words
i've heard him perform and it's always a good time

an old friend of mine was a slam poet and part of a youth organization in nyc. whenever we'd go to a slam i'd see a few of the poets now featured on def jam and whatnot.

another favorite of mine is Beau Sia
that man is talented and funny. he wrote a book of poetry taking the titles in Jewel's book and writing what came to mind.

I caught this guy on that Poetry Slam shit on HBO one night. Didn't realize it was the same cat from the Sage CD.

    He's very good.
