software rape

Discussion in 'Channel Zero' started by imported_Tesseract, Mar 16, 2004.

  1. So i had to dl the new aim 5.5 in order to get directly connected with everyone else that updated. That kinda pissed me off but now outlook got associated with aim and lags the fuck out cause it opens two programs at once...i tried everything in both options and preferences...

    tesseract/god, make it go away

aim is trying to force their newer software onto everyone--but it sucks!
i have 4.8 and i will not upgrade. i tried 5.5, it sucked, i uninstalled it, and now every time i open outlook i get a .dll error.

    yours in the struggle,

    well, it could still happen

uninstall aim and delete all remaining files, then install 4.8

i just kind of overinstalled 4.8 because i'm lazy and don't like my computer anymore

uhh this is really easy to fix

    Tools > Options

    Click on the "GENERAL" TAB
you should see "sign onto instant messenger" tab somewhere in the general tab
  7. thats the problem metallix, like i said i did that, and disabled aim from being the default IM program...it keeps sneaking in though
