Small Business Grants

Alright, I'm interested in finding out about small business grants but search engines only return sites that are interested in selling me books on how to go about obtaining these grants. I know there are agencies you pay $50 up front, they find what you're elidgable for, and once it all goes through you give them 10% of your total grant... but I don't think that's completely necessary beings that the people I'm in kahoots with aren't incapable and have access to legal advice... so...

Does anyone have any information/links they can give me? I doubt there's an abundance of people on here who know about this type of thing but I'm taking a shot... and I assume most of you have seen Casino.

And before anyone gets condescending I'm realistic about this.. I don't expect it to be as easy as filling out a couple forms, spinning around twice and shooting the center out of the star with an air-rifle; nor do I expect to try to act on these grants for another year or two, but I'd like to start researching now.

So... anyone?

Its determined by state. So check local colleges, community colleges, maybe try the state building for info. Women also qualitfy for more grants. Or if theres a small business like yours, go there and get some info from them, if you travel, go to bsinesses like yours and ask them if they got grants.

I have heard a few things about these government loans. The ones that you dont have to pay back have stipulations surrounding them just like anything else in life.

If you actually recieve on of these loans then and you set up your business, I think that your business has to turn around and make as much money as you borrowed from the government. If this happens then you dont have to pay them back. If your business does not make as much money as was loaned to you then you have to pay it back.

If you think about it this makes great sense. People would just take these loans all willynilly and be like "Oh shit my business sucks. Oh well."

I hope that gives you some insight on what you are looking to do.
