boogie hands Posted November 15, 2001 Share Posted November 15, 2001 ....is the best thing on earth. is completly free of responsibility. today i decided to sleep on the couch, i dont usually take naps on the couch but today was different....why??? because i knew that within 30 to 45 minutes of me lying down my girlfriend and her friend would come home. i also knew that taking a 30 to 45 minute nap in the bedroom would be impossible because regardless of when i set my alarm bedroom naps are always at least 2 hours minimum. so by sleeping on the couch of our one bedroom apartment i was guarenteed a 30 to 45 minute nap due to the fact that my ass would be streched out and snoring in the center of our home....this of course would not be tolerated with company over and i would be awoken to the sounds of giggling girls. sure enough, 45 minutes into the nap i was awoken by two girls laughing at me and telling me to wake up. another plus to the company being over is i would be forced to rapidly awake so i could reach the pinnicle of my social skills....when its just my girlfriend it usually takes upwards of an hour to fully wake up, with company im forced to interact and converse therefore making a speedy recovery manditory. to recap: taking a nap on the couch is good because the first person who wants to use the living room will act as your alarm clock and unlike your alarm clock there is no snooze button on impatient people allowing, providing you time it correctly, a short power nap with an increased likley hood of a rapid post nap recovery....all of the factors will then result in the perfect, restful, productive afternoon nap. There's some kind of magic with short naps. You're not awake but you surely not sleeping either, its just a warm thing goin on...bump for that. I am just coming from another pleasent situation and its weird cause i wanted to make a thread about it. But i like this one, so here it goes. I just returned from my girls house, she was very tired.We were chilling on the couch and she fell asleep, i stood and watched her for a while there, no sounds, no lights just that blinking blue from the tv. I felt really relaxed. Its funny cause watching her sleeping made me feel like i just woke up. Those awakenings that happen once in a year, those that you just feel great for no reason. I put her in her bed, closed all the lights exept a tiny one in her room,locked all the windows and left. The drive home is really nice in situations like this one. ubejinxed Posted November 15, 2001 Share Posted November 15, 2001 umm i never have time to get a nap in on my couch. there is usually someone on it. i get home my roommie and BF are on it. on the weekends there are other people on it. i live at 231 1/2 and i swear it is a halfway house with all the people who make our couch home. any given weekend night there are at least two people asleep on my couch. it is a very comfortable one however, i slept there for 2 weeks when the movers lost my bed. i love falling asleep in the late afternoon sun that filters in through the windows onto a small patch of couch. it's so warm and lulls me to sleep, so cold outside, so warm and comfortable inside. mmmmmmm. oh for late afternoon naps. fuck work.
