They are sick!!!

You hit the nail on the head, the cd is good but live it's powerful. Their stiff yet

purposeful movement, wildly strong personalities, three percussionist (2 of

which must likely smoke pcp or they just really need attention and the Herchey's

chocolate shell on the ice cream center stage a skinny chick playing the accordion.

FUCK, I need more.

i saw em a couple months ago.

i liked it, but i could never shake the fact that :

1. i fucking hated the guy in the helmet. he was like andy dick, but twice as annoying. i kept praying that the smoke would fill his lungs and cause him to suffocate.

what flames you ask? the ones from the fire, inside the arcade, stupid!

2. they sound reeeaalllyyyyy like the talking heads. a fact which was only exacerbated by their incredibly poor (IMO) decision to cover a talking heads song. even before they did that though, i spent the the majority of the show singing talking heads lyrics (quite loudly) over their music and giggling like a school girl.

all in all, i liked them, and i can understand why others do too, but at first (and only) listen (i'd never heard of them before being dragged to the show) they were reaaaaal 'influenced' in a way that i have problems respecting too much.

I love this band.. They're all the rage in hipster circles right now.. Which usually means bad news, and I usually have an aversion to that sort of stuff, but damn if this band doesn't kick some ass..

I've been listening to them the past couple of months.. Went to one of the shows (awesome). Some of the really best music i've heard in a while.

Seeking I would suggest downloading or buying their album.. Giving it a thorough listen..

Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) is my anthem of the year.

yeah, i found a grip of their shit on google. it's mostly crappy recorded stuff but there's a live album and radio appearance that are easily accessible in mp3 format. i bought that album because i liked it so much. no cars go and neighborhood#1 are ballin ass songs.

Damn...

I had my doubts about this band, but then I listened and realized they are fucking awesome. My favorite tracks are Haiti and Neighborhood #3 (power out). I kept listining to those tracks the first night i got the cd and i swear it pumped me up so much I couldnt sleep. The musical layering blows your mind if you listen with nice headphones, you notice crazy shit like a small noise in the background that all the sudden takes over the main melody of the peice, harmonizing with every other instrument and you just are like HOLY FUCK!

The lyrics are equally awesome.

that review helps you understand the album more.

Somehow, we canadians are pumping out tons of great music as of recent. I recommend Cuff the Duke from good ol' Oshawa ontario( http://www.threegutrecords.com or http://www.cufftheduke.com). OR, you can go to http://www.cbcradio3.com and check out their profile in last weeks issue--101 bands type thingy. And yeah, The arcade fire kicks ass, despite what seeking says.

oh, and if you're okay with listening to complete pussy ass sissy boy tunes, check out the hidden cameras. It's probably a bit too gay for most people, but I jam out to it and i think almost for sure that i'm straight.
