i am moving back to louisville ky from santa cruz ca. the target date to leave is may the 20th. i will be taking highway 80 most of the way there, stopping whenever seems best to go skate parks or take pictures.

if you have any suggestions of places to stop on the way.. please post! skateparks off highway 80 especially.

i'll be driving solo and cool stops would probably be nice. we'll see.. thanks!

i once took a greyhound from new orleans to miami ... miami to seattle ... seattle to new york ... then new york back to new orleans

though it may have been one of the most excruciating events of my life ... could easily write a rather comical story about it

p.s: i haven't taken greyhound since

right on

perfect. on the way out my friend and i skated some really shitty park in a small nevada town right off the highway. the park sucked but it was a nice break from all the boring driving.

Unfortunately according to your map the only place I've been to that you may pass through outside of Cali was Salt Lake City and Cheyenne. And I just stayed in Cheyenne. Salt Lake I looked around and explored a little and remember going up to the governor's building; it sits up high on the base of the mountains overlooking the city, and looks just like the Capitol building in DC, except it's gray. If you want to spare several hours, Mount Rushmore is a little ways north of Cheyenne. That's the only "attraction" I can think of.

I remember back in '98 me and my girlfriend at the time decided to do a cross-country roadtrip, so we flew to NYC; rented a car at National Car Rental in Jersey City, NJ; stayed in NY for a couple days... drove down to DC, stayed there, then up to Toledo, OH and stayed, then through Chicago all the way stopping and staying in Albert Lea, MN; then stopped at Mount Rushmore in SD, then kept going and stayed in Cheyenne, WY; proceeded and passed through Salt Lake City and stayed in Las Vegas for a couple days; then on to Los Angeles where we dropped the car off at the National there. It took 10 days total. And we did it ghetto style staying in nothing but Motel 6's, Super 8's, and whatever else that was cheap.

you could do drugs while driving through the desert in Nevada, à la Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

if hes only going down 80, he wont really hit much high desert like the scenes in fear and lothing, but he will pass right by a 500 foot high snad dune, thats pretty desert like.

and bloc, i think you may be speaking of winimuca's (sp?) little skate park, the one in reno is a bit bigger and better, but by no means top quality, if you ever want some directions, hit up the email.

there is alot of good run down shit in the reno area to take pictures of as well, and there is tons of shit to take pictures of downtown with the bums and casinos
