    they are the first to be reporting he has died from emphysema. i guess maybe only us older dudes really remember when he was on television. but the man most defibitely paved the way for letterman, leno, o' brien, and the slew of other late nite talk show hosts. he was an innovator.

    he was 79 years old. i just seen them talking about it on the news on tv. nothin on the web just yet i can find. what a shame.
    he was just in the news 4 days ago. it was about how hell read the morning paper and come up w/ some jokes and send em to letterman. he was sick but still had his humor.
