LINDA LOVELACE: Famous for starring in the 1972 porn film Deep Throat. Lovelace later denounced porn. She was killed in a car crash on April 22, aged 53. CHUCK JONES: Taken by heart failure on February 22, aged 89. The famous animator started as a child extra in silent movies before creating cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Wile E Coyote. ALFRED “FREDDY” HEINEKEN: The billionaire ex-chairman of the Dutch brewery giant passed away on January 3 after contracting pneumonia, aged 78. JEFF ASTLE: The brain disease which killed the former England and West Brom centre forward on January 20, at the age of 59, was caused by heading heavy leather balls, a coroner ruled. DUDLEY MOORE: Comedian and musician Dudley succumbed to a brain disease on March 27, aged 66. He found fame with satirist Peter Cook and later became a Hollywood sex symbol despite being just 5ft 2½in. THOR HEYERDAHL: Starved himself to death on April 18, aged 87, after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. The Norwegian explorer sailed a balsawood raft, Kon-Tiki, from South America to Polynesia to prove that ancient natives could have made the journey. LISA “LEFT EYE” LOPES: The singer found huge US success in girl group TLC but she was also killed in a car crash on April 26, aged 30.
