Proper shaving;

so whats the proper way to shave? Ive tried it all and I still get razor bumps on my neck/throat area. its not so bad, just a little, it hardly shows but it does. I shave every day to keep a formal and clean look. I have thick hair too by the way, not as thick as african hair, not as smooth as white or asian either. its arab facial hair, its no joke.

anyway, I wet my face with hot water before shaving, I apply shaving cream, I start by shaving my neck/throat area DOWNWARDS, then my cheecks and chin DOWNWARDS, then my mustache area DOWNARDS, then I do it all again UPWARDS, which gets most stubble out for sure. but I cant help that thats not the perfect way to shave? I never asked my father when I was younger, so anyone wanna be a father-figure here? post away

sure.... dont shave your neck upwards.

Sure you might be able to get a bit less stuble

but it's really not worth it. Shaving down and across

is really all you need. (*edit) If you are using a good razor!

Here's some tips....

Make sure to leave the hot cloth on your face for like 20 seconds.

Lay it across your neck too. Use a good shaving creame too. Dont skimp.

And here's my big secret tip: Let super hot water run over the blade for a few moments.

I dont know why, but it generally smoothes things up.

that's all I will share now.

shit sonny..... here's more:

By 'sideways' I mean move the razor from the outside

of your neck in towards the adams apple.

Obviously angle the blade so you dont slash your throat.

Different people have differnet features, so it might not work for you.

I accept no responsibility if you slit your own throat.

and shit man... got a freakin' wash cloth?

Hold that shit under HOT HOT HOT water

then wring it out a bit. Look at the ceiling

and cover your face/neck with the cloth.

Let it sit there for a few minutes and voila.

Soft and ready to mow down the fuzz.

You dont need to steam afterwords....

just slap a good lotion on.

I use this stuff but not too much.

I've always been told to use cold water while shaving.

Also you never EVER shave against the 'grain' of your hair.

Using a good shaver, shaving cream, and after balm/moisturizer is key.

I use a Schick Quattro and before that I had the Mach3 Turbo.

A nice Gilette for men skincare shaving cream and Gilette for men skincare moisturizer.

Also before shaving, it's usually best to take a shower/wash your face and make sure it's clean.

I shave against the grain all the time and dont seem to have any problems. About half way down my neck suffers from wolf man syndrome. I need to shave right now so i think that i will hook you up with step by step pictures on my process.

first you need the right tools for the right job:

There's something inherently gross about loose

hair and water.. thanks for reminding me yuck.

Why aren't you supposed to shave against the

grain though? I always do and have and never

once had a problem. Then again I've got thick

German/Finnish skin that's never even suffered

a knick or a cut from a razor so maybe I don't

have the problem or something.

I've got a mean beard started...

I shave in a hot shower... seems to work. just get a shaving mirror. but hell i do alot of things in the shower like brush and floss too. i like long showers and sleeping in late so this helps me save some time in the morning. i draw the line at using the bathroom in there..most of the time.

I'm all about the shaving, brushing, flossing in the shower.
