-Rage-
Hello. The rules. 1. Post your best photographic image(s). 2. Don't pass other peoples work as your own. 3. Only ONE photograph each! One black & white and One color. 4. Please describe as such: Camera used - Media used - How did you compose the shot? - Why do you like it? - My entries: B&W: http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/alcatraz/a24.jpg'> Camera - Minolta X-9 with standard 50mm lens. Media - Kodak TMY 400iso B&W Composed - I was chilling at the piers in San Fran waiting for the ferry to Alcatraz and this bird swooped down to drink. So I was sly and carefully took the photo without disturbing the bird. I forget the shutter speed and f-stop. Sorry. Why? - It really looks like an old time photo. Everytime I look at it, I think of Coney Island. I also love the light bulbs in the background and the faded sign. This photo also reminds me of how cool SF was. Color: http://www.angryalan.com/photohost/misc/12.jpg'> Camera - Minolta X-9 50mm lens and a Skylight 1A filter Media - Kodak 200iso (?) Composed - Was benching when I came across this. Just put on the filter and snapped the shot. Forgot the shutter and f-stop. Why? - It's fucking beautiful. The character, the colors, even how messy it looks. I love it. Ski Mask
http://members.shaw.ca/cjmmoc/painting.jpg'> Camera: Pentax MZ-30 with 30-70mm lens Media: TMAX 400 I think. maybe 100 Composed: The space was really confined, we just hid as the engine passed, then we came out and the level of noise, and speed the train was going totally overwhelmed me. I had to get a shot of how big and fast it was going, and how it kind of dwarfed us. Why?: Brings back the moment very vividly. Aside from that I couldnt tell you. http://members.shaw.ca/cjmmoc/newslides/aaronramp.jpg'> Camera: Nikon FE2 with 50mm lens Media: Fuji Provia 400 Composed: We were wandering around downtown and checking out the construction around the base of the new shaw tower. I stopped to take a photo of somthing at the bottom and EarMuffs kept walking up the ramp. I turned around and it was just one of those shots that appears instantly in your head and you have to take it. Why?: It looks like theres some kind of story behind it.... MrChupacabra
Well, at least at this moment, these are my choices: http://img50.photobucket.com/albums/v152/MrChupacabra/aeecfc87.jpg'> Camera - Olympus OM1 with a 28mm to 105mm lens. i think it was a 15th of a second exposure on F2.8 or F1.8, i'm not sure. Media - TMAX 400 Composed - I was on a vacation to Philly and NYC with my parents and me and my dad were just wandering around New York at night and taking some photos when i saw this building. I couldn't get the shot i initially wanted since there was a shit load of traffic that was in the way so i ended up having to cross the road which in turn gave me a shot that i liked a lot better. Sometimes you just get lucky Why? - I love photos of buildings and i love contrast, the latter of which i added more of later when i developed. But it was just a good combo of people, archecture, and lights that combined for a picture i really like. http://img50.photobucket.com/albums/v152/MrChupacabra/f83e58b6.jpg'> Camera - Olympus OM1 with a 28mm to 105mm lens. 8th of a second exposure, probably F2.8 or F4, possibly F1.8, i'm not sure once again. Media - I think it was just the generic kodak color film 400 speed. Composed - Same night as the other one, needless to say that night was a successfull one in terms of photography. There were all these lights on some building in NY, big concert place the name escapes me right now, and i knew i wanted a photo of them but i couldn't figure out the angle i needed. I ended up laying/sitting down in the middle of a sidewalk while lots of people were walking around me and just hoping my shaky hands pulled through for me on the 8th of a second exposure. It did. Why? - I always have loved the orange tint that you get with long exposures at night with color film and this picture is just those nice shades of orange and black. It pops out at me but it is still a really straight forward picture, really simple.

I think that's the bridge from Biker Boyz where they raced. http://img26.photobucket.com/albums/v79/diverse/poolchalk.jpg'> Camera- Same as above Media- Same as above Composed- Was playing pool at home with a friend and decided to take a shot with the chalk in the foreground and the balls in the background. How did you compose the shot? - I crept on my gf while she was in the shower. Why do you like it? - Originally this was just going to be a perveract shot but when I got the film developed, i got something totally different. I like the fact that it's kinda blurry and the way there's all the nice shades of yellow all over the place. I like the pose i caught her in as well. I just think this piece is very distinct and organic looking. It's from 2000 and thus has weathered somewhat giving it an old and crusty appearence. MisPantalonesEstaEnfuega
These are all "as of the moment..." and I plan to post more of my favorites in the near future. Black and White: http://www.plugintothefaithless.com/photos/erinkevin.jpg'> Camera - Nikon N75 28mm lens Medium - kodak tri-x 400iso composed- I'm a firm believer in your center of interest not being in the center and it should only be in the center when there is no other object. If things are dead center it pisses me off. This also works as a self portrait(This is a crappy print, my paper has been solarized. In the negative you can see me in the sunglasses a lot clearer.) Why? - I have an unhealthy obsession with my girlfriend and I am a huge fan of those sunglasses, everytime she wears them I tend to take a lot of pictures of her whenever there is something extremely interesting reflecting in the lenses. Color: Most likely later tonight...
Milton
Lens (Perveract2) You should take a picture of her with running water against a black background with light that is coming upwards and forwards on her. And if you could find a slightly bluish filter, for the light, not the camera. That would be great...
