you're going to have to spend some loot.

Just go to any computer store, and buy 'Photoshop in a Book'.

Some come with CD's filled with tutorials. Practice is the only way to go.

what says Tesserat & Seeking ...??

I agree with Zesto. If you want to learn Photoshop thats the way.

I could never do that though.I learned Photoshop by my self.I learned things as i played with it, at some point it was like video games to me.And i learned stuff the hard way simply because i had a certain job to do.

I guess that a book could be really boring "studying Photoshop" sounds pretty wack.

The thing is that by talking with friends that use photoshop i realised that everyone knows the things that concern him, people dealing with photography know better some things that graphic designers dont. And the other way round.

So i would suggest a book to learn the basics (mostly about resolution and layers) and keep it as a thing to consult whenever you want to do something particular. And just play a lot,as everything its a matter of practice.

i pretty much taught myself, and to be honest, i dont know how the fuck i did it.... i dont have the patience to teach myself programs anymore. get the 'photoshop bible.' its about 50 bucks or so, but its invaluable. it teaches you everything you could ever wanna know, and does so in plain old english. good times.

You're definitely gonna benefit from having a big Photoshop reference book, but you also gotta log in some serious hours to become adept at it. My first suggestion is to get used to the pen tool and Bezier curves, they'll come in handy when you have to make precise selections, and that's one of the things you'll end up doing the most. Play with the Adjust options (Levels, Contrast, etc), learn what they do, and how they can make the overall picture look better. Pile a bunch of layers up on top of the other, and then play with the transparency options of each (Screen, Overlay, Color Dodge, etc.) Finally, play around with filters and see what each does.

I learned a lot from http://phong.com , the guy really taught me how to use channels and make some pretty darn cool looking effects that I'd otherwise never found out about. Check it out after you got the basics down. Beer,

right... your old girlfriends head on a pronstars body.. got it!

One point that I think we all agree on...

Just keep doing it!

Find some image and then go step by step until you've recreated the

look and feel of it. (a subscription to 'step by step graphics' is good too)You will learn by yourself, but workflow is also very important.

The end product is key... but how you get there is what makes a pro.

my next challenge... colour correction... sigh

to add photos together like that, start out with two pictures. lets use the girlfriends head on the porn body just for clarity.

take the g/f pic, and select her head. you can use the pen tool (although i very rarely do, even though its probably the 'right' way) i use the lasso to just make a rough circle around whatever i want. then once you get it selected, copy it and open up the porn pic. now just paste it into the new pic. it'll make a new layer with the head on it. to resize the head, click on edit on the top left of the screen, then click transform (you can also click ctrl + T if you want) that will allow you to change the size. when your all done, you need to 'save as' a jpeg to be able to put it into emails or on the web or anything like that. good luck.

I tried the photoshop demo from the adobe site but didn't really spend that much time messing around with it. I think I'll wait till the semester's over. I currently have Ulead photo explorer 3.0 that came free with a web cam/digital cam and that software is very good for putting Ex-girlfriends heads on pornstar bodies or Osama's head on crazy white gangster bodies like seen on 12oz. They have a tool called "smart crop" where you just pull the mouse around the image you want cut and it traces it automatically. This works great for that purpose and takes much less time than photoshop to master. They probably have a Free demo version too, just search ULead or try http://www.ulead.com Hope it helps.

Yo bumdigger post those flicks of your pornstar/girlfriend later when you get the hang of it.
