so i had a biopsy recently, apparantly they found cancerous cells in a lesion in my frontal lobe...i have to go to a neuropathologist to get more tests taken...they said that it is critical to determine the exact type and grade (aggressiveness) of a tumor from all kinds of weird tests... all i can really remember them talking about was an MRI, a CT, and a PET...has anyone had to undergo this shit before ???please indulge me...

At my old job I made good friends with a frequent customer who was a radiologist and told me about this stuff.

I'm sure you know this already but MRI machines look like giant cubes. They slide you in and the magnets in the machine picks up images of what's going on in your body. In your case, the doctor will be checking for changes in your tissue. I heard the procedure takes about 15-20 minutes.

I'm not sure how PET scans work, I just know it involves injecting radioactive glucose.

Whatever they do, good luck to you. Hope everything turns out well.

Homey .. get on AIM and I'll talk with you. I've been through a lot of those tests b/c of either migraine headaches or Crohn's disease. They're nothing to worry about, in and of themselves. All the tests that you listed are non-intrusive manners to get a picture of the inside of your body (in this case, your head).

Giving Tree is right on with what he said.

I looked up some further info for you.
