CSX wont work for me, neither will BNSF... I didnt bother trying anyone else, I just kind of figured they took that option away from the general public... I guess if you are a customer with a rail company, you can still trace... damn it sucks...

When you mention NS .. are you refering to NORFOLK SOUTHERN?

If so, what is their web address? hit me with an email, if possible. I'll try NORFOLKSOUTHERN.COM .. somehow i doubt it will be that simple though. Its irritating.

shit...youd think it was burried treasure or somthing...how hard is it to go on the corprate site for whatever railroad you want and poke around till you find the tracing....
here is a paste from my "tracing for dummies" article... I'll remove the dead links as I test them...
BNSF: No more free tracing. Only tracing available is through the secure site, www.mybnsf.com

    CN:http://ecprod.cn.ca/english/commerce/cartrace/
    Not up anymore...
"In order to protect your shipments, CN is immediately moving its
internet equipment tracking system to the secured portion of its web site. This
change will allow us to better manage the data according to your needs and specifications."

    CP:http://www4.cpr.ca/cgi-bin/hsrun.hse/eShip...;start=HS_start
That URL worked for me...but CP shifts shit all the time so it may not last as a link...

    CSX:http://twsnet.csx.com/ec.shipcsxpublic/com...module=carTrace

link no longer works...just go to http://www.csxt.com/eco/ for info...

    KCS:http://www.kcsi.com/kcsl-cgi/cli.rexx
still available, with a minor change that wont affect us:
    "Recent Enhancement!
All hazardous tracing is now secured.
If you are a hazardous shipper,
    please click on
the 'menu' command option below for instructions."

    NS:http://www.nscorp.com/open/qtrak/qtrakform.htm
NS is working...same deal as KCS
    UP:http://my.uprr.com/pub/pet/
    UP is working like always

I'm just glad I've got my precious RailNETREDI account...

    NO MORE TRAIN TRACKING???

i just tried the cn train trace 800 number and it doesn't work.... i then went to the web site and saw this........

    "To all customers,

In order to protect your shipments, CN is immediately moving its internet equipment tracking system to the secured portion of its web site. This change will allow us to better manage the data according to your needs and specifications.

Please accept our apologies for the short notice, however, we are implementing this change right away due to recent events in the U.S.

Please note that CN does not provide shipment information to any party who is not clearly identified as a CN customer."

are all the companies doing this?.. does this mean no more tracing?........
