when rent for an appartment is $1500 US a month how the hell do you people survive?

are you on some killer salaries like 100grand a year? just wondering

a decent apt i think goes for 650-900 around here.

my parents were lucky when they bought the pad.

they only pay 600$ a month and are already almost paid off. 2 more years.

thats rent is based on income (this rocks)

its two bedroom and will be like 400 a month, dirt cheap

I pay $700 for half of a 3bdrm appt in the downtown of my city.

There's always ways to work out cost sharing.

If you're paying 1500 a month for just yourself,

then that's about having a 'status adress' and not a home.

I live in a co-op building like that we pay $901 for a 3 bedroom. thats Canadian tho'

Rent in San Francisco is even worse.

Nobody can find a place or afford one out here either.

Rent out here was really expensive.

Until all the dot com companies flopped.

Rent is getting cheaper, but the energy

crisis is helping keep it a bit high. Some people

still charge a grip, thinking its all good,

but it aint. Work is hard to find, some people

are either scraping to get by, or moving

to the boonies, where rent is super low.

Then they do the killer commuting thing.

Im buying a crib in the ghetto, and my payment is decent.

Its a bit high, considering my surroundings,

but boarders and me having a good job helps.

I rent out rooms, and that helps me with my payments.

So its not that all people are paying that much rent

by themselves. Most people share living spaces

to make it cheaper. I would move, but shit,
