Here an article list for you guys. It's New York based graffiti news but it's definately worth some of your time for graffiti in the media.

sucks when that happens doesn't it?
you get all amped up in dickhead-mode, then you find that somehow someone found a subject actually worth posting and you have to tuck your tail between your legs.

dude, just to make up for it, i'm totally going to the yard now. there's always stupid shit in there.

it's almost worth making this thread a sticky and renaming it "before you post some stupid topic asking people to write your stupid school paper about graffiti, click on this link and do the fucking work yourself"

    Graffiti Artist's Apartment Raided

    DECEMBER 03RD, 1999

A graffiti artist says police raided his SoHo apartment
after he promised to use one of his paintings to make
fun of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in public.

Stephen Powers says he announced on a radio show
Monday that he painted a picture of the Mayor's head
on the body of the Virgin Mary.

As part of a fundraiser, Powers said he'd charge
people to throw elephant dung at the life-sized
    painting.

On Tuesday, Police from the NYPD Vandal Squad
took five bags worth of items from his apartment
    including paint and magic markers.

The warrant also allowed cops to take books, pictures,
videos even information from Powers' computer, as
long as it related to graffiti.

Investigators also seized some brass knuckles
Powers says were nailed to the wall in his kitchen.

He faces a weapons possession charge for that and
goes to court on January 3.

Police did not get the painting of the mayor in the raid.

Powers says he plans to go through with the event
    Saturday in Washington Square Park.

thats a nice site, and this is fucked up right here:

In October, 1983, Michael Stewart stood in the L train station one evening, waiting for the train to take him home. He never made it. A cop saw him doodling on a poster in the station. He was subsequently beaten to death by police. The medical examiner created a bogus autopsy report, and no charges were ever brought against any of the cops involved.

I'd probably recommend that you get yourself a membership. It's free and a great bargin, compared to paying 50 cents every day for the nytimes. I've been a member there for the past 5 years.
