    Portishead finishing up new album

British cult favourites Portishead are back on the musical map.

Founding member Geoff Barrow told digital radio station BBC 6 Music that their new album, their first in eight years, is currently being finished.

"We're actually into it as we speak. We took some time off for Christmas, but generally we're doing another record," he said.

Barrow also noted that he was shocked to hear that people thought the band had gone their separate ways.

"We've just had our heads down really, we've never actually broken up, or parted, or whatever.

"So for us it just seems, even though we haven't played for years, we still see each other and write - we just haven't released a record for a long time."

Portishead won the 1995 Murcury Music Prize for their debut album, "Dummy."

Their last studio album, "Portishead," was released in 1997.

Well, it's about fucking time. I get shivers every time I hear Beth Gibbons sing, so I'm looking forward to this. Thanks for the heads-up.

I am sorry if you like them, but they were an ex of mines favorite band, and I actually fell asleep listening to them.

They are just too relaxed for me.

But each to their own, but yeah, not for me.

(And I am just glad it isn't some new school rap shit you are praising!!!!!)
