I guess Duffy Littlejohn has changed publishers, or maybe he has gone "self-published." Anyway, he reports on Train-hoppers.com that his book is still available, with a slightly increased price, though.

"Hopping Freight Trains in America." $18.80, post-paid

Hopefully, people will treat this information with the respect it deserves. Littlejohn has educated thousands of readers in how to hop trains. I figure he's probably saved a lot of lives, because people don't make the sort of mistakes that they used to make, as much. The book rocks. It's WORTH EVERY CENT. If you want to hop, READ LITTLEJOHN'S BOOK FIRST. Study it. Memorize it. Follow the rules, and stay alive.

for those of you that don't give a fuck about hopping, near the end of the book it lists every city in your state where you could catch a fr8 out of, which may lead to you finding your next favorite yard near bumfuk. you should see how many yards it lists just for chicago.

I check my copy out from the public library here.
