Netflix.

I signed up for Netflix a few days ago, and, voila, my first set of movies arrived today - "Wit" for the lady, "Thirteen" for both of us, and the Spike Jonze music video collection for me.

For those of you not in the know, here's a description of what Netflix is:

Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) is the world's largest online DVD movie rental service offering more than two million members access to more than 35,000 titles. Our appeal and success are built on providing the most expansive selection of DVDs; an easy way to choose movies; and fast, free delivery.

For $17.99 a month members rent as many DVDs as they want and keep them as long as they want, with three movies out at a time. Members enjoy free and fast delivery. Through our nationwide network of distribution centers we are able to provide more than 85 percent of our subscribers with delivery of their DVDs in about one business day, and we provide free, pre-paid return envelopes. With no commitments, members can cancel anytime. Our "no late fees, no due dates" online movie rental model has eliminated the hassle involved in choosing, renting and returning movies.

If you didn't want to read that: $18/month gets you three movies out at a time. Return one and get the next movie that's in your queue.

+ + + + +

So what's in your queue? I went kinda nuts the first night, so mine's long:

  1. Capturing the Friedmans
  2. Run Lola Run
  3. Trainspotting
  4. Mystic River
  5. Man on Fire
  6. City of God
  7. Dogtown and Z-boys
  8. The Office - Series 1, 2
  9. Curb Your Enthusiasm - Season 1
  10. The Manchurian Candidate
  11. The Family Guy - Vol. 2
  12. Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Vol. 3
  13. Being John Malkovich
  14. Adaptation
  15. SNL: Best of Chris Farley
  16. Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
  17. Hoosiers
  18. Elephant
  19. Secretary
  20. Control Room
  21. American History X
  22. Monster
  23. Collateral
  24. Arrested Development - Season 1
  25. Freaks and Geeks - complete series
  26. Shaun of the Dead
  27. Amores Perros
  28. Raising Arizona
  29. Bad Santa
  30. Fahrenheit 451
  31. The Godfather

I should get through that in about 2 years. Awesome.

I was watching the full run of the Sopranos and the last 3 seasons of Oz, all bought or downloaded, so my Netflix have gone a little neglected. I still have some from December that I haven't watched.

Since they're doing maintenance now I can't see my queue, but I have these out:

Sunset Boulevard

Hang 'em High

Five Easy Pieces
