The center of the earthquake was in the sea and very deep underground so no big damage was done you could feel it was coming from far away and it didnt have the horrible sound strong quakes centered right next to you have. What was impressive is that people felt that earthquake from italy to turkey and from northern greece to cairo...shit was unreal. The same source has given an 8.2R in the past...

Athens had zero problems, one island the was closer to the quake source got a bit fucked though. 6.9R is no joke..if that things source was in the main land instead of the sea we'd be fucked, completely

Yikes...Thats crazy. I'm sure that 30 seconds felt alot longer than 30 seconds. I've only ever been in one, I think it was a 5 or 6? Terrifying and wierd. I was 10 and slept with a bag full of clothes and my shoes next to my bed for the next week.

I was in a split second earthquake once. It was just like one jolt and that was it.

I woke up to a 5.5R back in 2001 at like six in the morning.
It shook for about 20 seconds.

This was in Vermont, mind you.

We had an earthquake around 1988, but it was really soft.
