Guest TresOne Posted January 7, 2005 Share Posted January 7, 2005 Counting cards isn't really that hard to learn, you just have to get to the point where it's an automatic process, and you don't have to really sit and think about the count. However, it's damn near impossible to make any sizeable amount of money alone by counting cards, unless you have a shitload of money to bet in the first place. And if you are making large bets, you bring so much heat by counting alone. Any casion will have yer ass booted out in a minute if they notice you making sporratic high and low bets and staring at the cards like you can see right trough em. Even then, you still stand the chance to lose more money than you make, it just gives you heads up as to what the odds of winning really are. It works best in a team, like the MIT team, but trust me, it's so fucking hard to pull off. I've tried it more than a few times with some buddies, and it's just way too sketchy. I still count whenever i'm at a table, but it rarely ever gives you a major advantage over the other players. You get the odd game where the count is through the roof, so you up your bet accordingly and mabye come out with some extra money. The most I've ever won at BlackJack in a night is $480, but it was purely luck. As far as I could tell from the count, my chances of winning were shit, and that was usually when I'd win the hand.
