**medical marijuana**

i was curious about your thoughts on it. my girlfriend was in a wicked car wreck last year and has chronic pain in her hip. prior to gettin with me she very rarely smoked but one night i asked her if she wanted a hit to see if it would kill the pain in her hip. guess what? it worked! she now smokes when the pain gets too heavy and she is in the process of getting her medical marijuana card. when you are a part of the oregon medical marijuana act you get to list one person as your "caregiver"; the caregiver gets to legally grow up to four plants and possess up to an ounce of pot. so soon ill be able to legally grow. well, at least the state cant bother me, the feds can still fuck with you, but lately judges have been throwing cases out.

Arguments about legalizing marijuana are like rhetorical rape. People feel so strongly about their side, a compromise will never be made, and the whole argument becomes hair-splitting.

I tried medical/prescription marijuana for non-medical reasons... it wasn't really all that hyped up to be.

In Canada, the government grows its own marijuana that it sends to people who need it for medical use. It isn't as potent because they developed their own strain from scratch.

Besides, posession of mj is all but legal here now anyway.

you fell for the oldest one in the book. when ppl hear that their dealer has "medical marijuana" they think it means its the diggity. all it means is that someone grew it legally. the government doesnt grow super-weed and give it to them.

::CLOSED::

If this thread carries on with views, opinions and experiences about medical marijuana and in the sphere of scientific content i see no reason why it shouldnt ride.

However, keep in mind that the no drug talk policy still applies and threads like these will get heavily moderated without warnings and immidiately closed the moment they pass that thin line.

A girl I used to talk to's stepfather had cancer

in his lymph nodes (whatever you call that) and

he was getting medical wheezy from some awol

doctor. Every couple months the guy would get

about a half-pound along with a fresh stock of

viagra, junk-food, and porno. If your death is

going to be drawn-out and assisted is illegal I

don't see why you shouldn't be able to go out

as oblivious to the pain as possible without having

to gobble-down buckets of opiates. I'm sure

some of the people who are in that condition

still enjoy being able to walk without having to

worry about slipping out of consciousness from Oxycontins.

Oh.. and medical is one step up from regular..

it's not the Kali-Mist I was expecting.

find a way to do it intelligently, and you guys can make threads on anything you want, the problem is that fools get retarded and turn it into some 'dude wheres my car' recounting of the last time they got 'so fucking wasted, brahhhh!'.

keep it as a political discussion with relivent stories and it's all good.

Negative. Posession of 15 grams or less is legal. I know this from a recent experience.

i said "all but legal". I know that posession of a half is legal. My point was that medical (government grown) marijuana was not that big of a deal because posession is decriminalized for personal use.

Yes, its still illegal to grow and sell, but the gov't is concerned with traffickers and organized crime, not with Johnny Glaucoma who has a few plants to ease his pain.

i have friends living with hiv who get medical merijuana and i don't see anything wrong with it. it helps them feel more relaxed and they certainly don't abuse the privilege. i have this weird illness which has no cure, i tried all kinds of medications and have seen so many specialists but what helps me most is when i smoke weed and im completely relaxed. for some reason i just feel better about smoking weed than taking some synthetic drug.

I really don't see the reason marijuana isn't legallized.. I mean yeah it'll become more widely used but look at alcohol, I don't drink alcohol because it fucks me up more than any weed has done to me. I have a theory that if all the people who opposed the idea of legalizing marijuana smoked quality weed at least once, they would begin to support that idea. But, hey I'm a citizen in a country that wonders if homosexual people are worse people than heterosexual people..

At least your professor let you write about it. 3 research topics that are off limits with my professors:

1. Abortion

2. Capital Punishment

3. Legalizing Marijuana

They say it's been done and done, and they're tired of reading about it. What's interesting about these topics is their controversy. Regardless of what side you're on, you can make good arguments defending your ideas and facts.

I am all for medical marijuana, especially for patients going through chemotherapy. I would also be down for legalizing marijuana. I don't have a good argument for it, I just like to smoke pot....
