dont get a degree in film.

It teaches you how to be a film critic.

A biter film bastard ranting on websites to anyone who will listen.

You want to work in film? Just go get a job humping cables or

getting coffee, then hustle your way up into a decent paycheck.

No degree in film is a substitute for experience.

In fact, some people see a film degree as detrimental

to actually getting a job in the industry. Please believe.

I'm going back to school this spring, after almost 3 years, most of which were spent in a drunken stupor.

I also found out that I didn't owe the university 2,000$, it was actually showing up on my bills as a result of an accounting error I made while checking out equipment to myself when I last worked there.

Some smart motherfuckers on here.

I am always in crossfire because..... (drumroll please) I'm a MASTER DEBATER! *ba-doom bang*

Nah... I tried to go to art school years ago.... didn't even make it a year before they ran me out, deep in debt, contrary to all their promises. I could have paid off a third of my debt today but instead I helped my brother pay his car off. Fuck that school.

I don't entirely agree...maybe that's because I've almost got a BFA in film but....

I think it depends what school you go to. I'm at one that is basically a trade school. And if you're concerned with getting a job, don't go into film..in general basically. But yeah, if your reasoning for going to film school is $, then don't go.
