ZENYTH.ASP
http://wehaveaproblem.com/webfiles/news/07032001.html July 3, 2001 KILGALLEN, Margaret Leisha -- Our beloved Margaret passed peacefully on June 26, 2001 in the arms of her husband and daughter in San Francisco. An avid surfer, painter, and banjo player, Margaret's life inspired adventure, compassion, joy and great love. Supported by her loving family and friends, Margaret's battle with breast cancer demonstrated a calm courage and grace to enrich our lives. Margaret is survived by her husband Barry McGee; her newborn daughter Asha; her parents James and Dena Kilgallen; her siblings, Lil, Marianne and Jamie; her nephews Brendan, Collin, Conor and Joseph; and her family-in-law Mabel, John and Naomi, Mike, Sherri, and Kim McGee. A vibrant member of the local arts community, Margaret exhibited her work in museums and galleries nationally and internationally most recently at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia and Stanford University, where she received her Master of Fine Arts degree on June 17th. Services will be held at St. John of God, 1290 - 5th Avenue on Thursday, June 28 at ten o'clock. In lieu of flowers, the Asha Kilgallen McGee fund has been established for her daughter's care at Bay View Bank, attn: Mark Harris, 443 Castro Street, San Francisco, CA 94114-2019. The family's email address is jjkilgalen@aol.com Sales of Margaret and Barry's t-shirts will be donated to the Asha Kilgallen McGee fund in honor of her mother. Those wishing to send support are advised to contact Bay View Bank or email the family at the address above. I only met her twice. Seemingly straight from the playground with her hair up in barrettes, wearing a summer dress and a quirky, timeless grace, her appearance communicated a love of life--the kind that creative spirits enjoy. Art is that intangible, subjective, indescribable stuff that makes life more than living, and I personally looked forward to and sought out the art that Margaret created because it gave me such joy. It is a great loss. El Mas Sucio De Todos
what can you say, you know? Breast cancer is some serious shit. Maybe we can all learn a bit from this as well as so many other women who have fallen victim to this. We need to be aware of this and try to support the cause to find a cure. Much respect to her family and all other victims of breast cancer...

dirtroad
So sad, such a loss. The news of the newly born daughter makes it all the more tragic. I will make it a point to put up some RIP Matokie Slaughter streaks next time I'm in the yard. I hope the Vernon will keep the flame burnin'. Sadness. Ski Mask
RIP Matokie Slaughter http://www.escape.ca/~cmillar/mslaughter.jpg'> for the longest time I thought she was just an alias for twist...a side project he did. But she was an amazing artist, and will be missed. Unfortunately, that flick is the only M. Slaughter Streaks I've caught... I'll be sure to avoid any I run across in the future.
