I also heard the policewoman speak to an incedent that happened earlier in the day, It seems a man driving his food delivery truck along the 284 interchange had his window blown out. Dennis Mangan, a detective with the Prince William County Police Department, said the shooting happened at a Sunoco gas station around 8:15 p.m. Asked whether it was linked to the sniper shootings, Mangan said, "It's too early to tell. We can't really rule it out." Prince William County police spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Chinn said some witnesses were talking to police, but she would not give details on what they saw. Video of the scene showed a person slumped between a gas pump and his car in a pool of blood. Chinn said investigators had not established the victim's identity. Dozens of police were on the scene, which was sealed off by yellow crime scene tape. Jeff Hintosh, a 19-year-old waiter at a nearby Shoney's, said he and his co-workers heard a single shot and did not see a fleeing vehicle or anything else. Manassas is a suburb of about 35,000 people, southwest of the nation's capitol. Wednesday's shooting comes exactly one week after the first shooting was reported in Montgomery County, Maryland. The Montgomery County Police Department, which is leading the sniper investigation, said it was sending a team of investigators to the scene. Two of the Maryland victims were killed at gas stations. Guest im not witty Posted October 10, 2002 Share Posted October 10, 2002 gun control is hitting your target. if this guy keeps it up hell be caught soon. hes moving around too much and its too much of a high profile deal. most serial killers who rack up the body count arent in the news (nor are there victims, usually because victims are undesirables, prostitutes etc.) until they discover who the killer is and where hes stashing bodies. this guy's just on a spree. soon police will pull over every white van in the area, and hell go down. The victim of Wednesday night's shooting was identified as Dean Harold Meyers, 53, of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Authorities said he was shot once in the head. All the sniper victims so far have been hit with a single shot. He was slain at 8:15 p.m. ET after he had finished pumping gas. Surveillance video showed him slumped between a gas pump and his car. Meanwhile, a source said Thursday that a Tarot card found near the scene of Monday's shooting of a 13-year-old boy in Bowie, Maryland, contained a message telling authorities not to reveal the existence of the card or what was written on it. White minivan seen leaving scene of shooting Police investigating the Manassas shooting are looking for a white minivan, described as a panel vehicle with only front passenger windows. A witness told police the van looks like a Dodge Caravan. The vehicle was seen leaving the immediate area, police said. Authorities backed away from an initial state police report that two white males were seen in a white van near the scene. At one of the earlier sniper shootings, a witness reported seeing a white, boxy van speed away from the scene. Police were continuing to look for that vehicle. "At this point we cannot say if this case is related to those other shootings," Prince William County Police Chief Charlie Deane said early Thursday.
