RumPuncher
control panel > sound or startup And a good prank to play.... copy a fullscreen quicktime in loop mode into the 'startup items folder'. either use a standard dirty movie, or take a screen shot and aminate a fake crash! Dirty_habiT
Can you still drag the shut down icon into the startup folder? I remember that used to work on older Macs.

Guest WebsterUno
*believe* yeah, I know what youre talking about, that BUUUUUUUNG!!!! sound when you hit the restart button. Yeah, you can lower your volume, and that will make it lower, but you cant change it. I do have a cool alert sound though. I have a godzilla "roar" and I have a scooby doo "gulp!" haha
RumPuncher
oh... I dont think so. that sound (just like with windows) is programed to play before you're even into the operating system. I know Dell and Intel have 'signature' sounds and Mac probably does too.
