are you running some kind of firewall (like norton?)

Perhaps some "protection" setting has been enabled.

 

Do you get an error message like "can not connect",

or does it just hang?

i can download fine in 9.2, just for some reason in x (10.2) it wont.

no error message, it just doesnt open the download manager.

i tried downloading shit off of versiontracker, aol.com, etc... none of it would work.

i looked into the firewall shit, thinking that might be it, but im not running anything other than the standard firewall, and the security is set to 'low', so that cant be it...

 

i tried to just download a 3rd party download manager, but well... it wouldnt download either (big fucking surprise there)
