Losing Weight/Getting in Shape/etc.

I'm going back home to Hawaii for the holidays in less than 2 months, and I wanted to start getting in shape. I drink beer atleast everyday, hard liquor atleast everyday of the weekends, and those empty calories aren't doing me any justice.

 

The beer belly is too pokable now, and my mom is gunna whoop my ass cuz she'll know i've been drinking too much.

 

So any quick effective ways to stay healthy and not die yet drop the pounds?

 

I've taken xenadrine and that shit straight almost killed me.. so maybe something lighter and cheaper at that. I have no problem with not eating if it came down to that, but whats something I could eat to balance out everything. Like not eat till dinnertime and like.. have a huge salad with fish on it or something?

 

Personal stories,tricks, tips anyone?

 

Working out is gay i dont like it at all because I have no space in my room to do it, but it can be fun sometimes........ I used to love going running, but that was in safe ol hawaii. I get home at 11 everynight at the earliest so going jogging late at night in vegas isn't the best idea.

It sucks.

I've stopped eating meat (red meat) before. For about 2 years.. I can't remember whether it's helped me or not by dropping pounds.. but i remembered it made my immune system go to shit because i didnt take the suppliments i needed that i only got in meat. Im thinking of maybe doing that again... ? hmm?

dee dont bother with those pills and everything, they are either bad for you or wont work. dont think about starving yourself either thats a big mistake and besides, it doesnt work. nobody can live without food, why try?

 

basically just eat better and do say 50 situps a day and thatll make a difference, it worked for me and i worked it up to about 150 crunches on each side of my stomach a day, once it gets to where it doesnt hurt anymore you know youre getting somewhere.

 

better food and a decent diet will lose weight, and keep it that way.

Nah didn't gain weight.. but belly isn't as toned. I mean it wasent tight either as before, but i notice the pokability in it right now.

 

And plus, I want to go home looking good. A little toning and weight dropping wont hurt... lets just pray it doesn' take away from the boobs or ass. So that means if i loose a bit of weight,then shit, my boobs and hips will look even bigger which is a nice thing. I want that girly V :P ...

like the lil V, but a lil pouchy thing belly (i do NOT want a super toned belly) but you know what i mean. Miss Van / twist character looking bitches belly. :: drool ::

I can give you some info on good ab workouts. I might have more time to explain it tomorrow. Then there's a ton of pills, "not really healthy, often not approved by the FDA", like hydroxycut. They sell it in GNCs. People lose lots of weight on it, but I think its mostly water weight. If I were you I'd quit drinking beer, and lay off the junk food if you're willing. If I could find some pictures(its hard to explain the exercises in words) I could show you the technique. I know i have some magazines/information that shows them better.

 

Medicine Ball Compound Crunches: Lower and Upper Abs

Medicine Ball Twisting Crunches: Sides and Upper Abs

Side Crunches: Sides, Lower, and Upper Abs

Bicycles: Sides: Uper Abs

Twisting Hanging Leg Raises(involves equipment, so I doubt this would help: Extreme work on sides, lower abs

 

Just start doing crunches, you'll see effects in less than two months.

fr8, I started off doing 60 sit ups.... 20 for each side, then 20 for the middle..... what kind of sit ups do you do? And plus I have night school so it's hard to find decent food when im surrounded by bull shit wendys, pizza hut, jack in the box, mcdonalds. I know I need to quit that shit.

 

Could you explain to me the situps you do?

haha pikudo. Big is beautiful... thick is beautiful, beautiful beautiful beautiful ok.

 

But I think it would be more hot if I was still thick but with some kinda dope definition... i'm dying to have that lil V.. yet keep my big ol hips...... its gunna be hot.

 

Plus my arms, any good arm workouts? I hate that shit that isnt toned.. like the top is toned, but the bottom is shit!

situps are more trouble than their worth, do crunches...like get into sit up position and just pull your head/chest up until you feel the burn in the stomach. do a lot of them shits. they dont seem like much but after you do a few youll feel it.

Oh yeah, I mean crunches.. thats what I do.. I don't do situps.. Crunches, thats what i do.

Here's how to do bicycles. They work your abs good. I found a magazine that explains them better than I could.

Lay on the floor with your hands positioned behind your head. Raise your legs so they are bent at the knees and hips. This is the starting position. Begin the exercise by curling your right leg up while curling your left shoulder off the floor and to the right. Once your left elbow touches your right knee, return to the starting position and bring your right elbow to your left knee. Instead of doing a million in a row. Try to do them in sets. For example 3 individual sets of bicycles, with 30 reps in each. Whatever feels good, if its working, your stomach should be burning. If it isn't do more. If it still isnt burning, you might be doing something wrong. And for the next to months stop drinking beer. I'm straight edge.

 

Look up ab workouts online. Pictures will help. I'll go find some good sites in the meantime.

p.s. no matter how i love to do pushups and i must admit i can do alot.. shit.. .i love it but damn my boobs will start to go down which is= BAD. very bad.

 

any other arm techniques?

 

i do this though.... i put my legs on a chair or table, with my body facing upwards, and do pushups" like that. im not exactly sure what im working out but its fun. haha.

okay with the beer problem... i'll try to cut back. maybe drink lights, or pussy beer first.. then eventually.. you know.. maybe i dont know... cut back more whatever that means. :: insert heartbroken smiley ::

here's one for you to consider...

 

Instead of eating 3 large meals a day,

try to eat 1 normal meal and 3 small snacks a day.

You need to have decent snacks like salad or yogourt. No junk food.

That will speed up your metabolism, and make you burn more cals.

 

The only true way to loose weight is to comsume less cals and burn more.

A chocolate bar can have 300 cals which is about 15 minutes of running.

Dont eat the junk, and do 30 minutes of running, and you'll slim down.

Um, hmmm. Most lifts involving your triceps work your chests too. You can do curls "biceps". That should help. Do something aerobic, like jumping jacks. That will get you in shape. Then run up and down steps for hours. There's a row of like 5000 steps that go up a hill in my neighborhood. You'll look stupid, but you'll get fit.

Some foods, I think one is celery, you actually burn more calories digesting it than you gain from eating it.

a good way to lose weight and not build muscle, you dont want to turn your ecxtra weight into muscle, just shed it, so do a heap of acardio and crunches are a great way to tone the tumski wumski. build your self up to as many as you can a day.

you should not starve yourself, this will just slow down your metabolism, keeping weight on. so eat 3 smart and small meals a day, or do the slim fast diet, 2 shakes and 1 meal. take the shakes to school w/ you to avoid the fast food. go out and buy 8 minute abs, it works and its sorta easy to stick w/ since its short. stop drinking beer, but if your gonna drink start drink straight up liqour....some cognac or some shit. wine is also better to drink than beer. don't drink sodas, or juices, or anything high in sugar, just straight up water (besides the Liq). take it easy on stuff high in carbs. theres a pill at GNC called beta trim that doesn't cotain ephedrine which you could take too, it doesn't get you as hyper and uppity feeling as that other shit but helps suppress your appetite...good luck, do we get to see the after flicks?..

i'm on a strict diet.

 

i do situps everynight

i ride a bike

speed walk every sunday (it will eventually be running....but for now, these hills kill me)

everywhere i go, i speed walk. the joys of living in a hectic city.

 

dont eat any rice or pasta

no butter or margerine

no more soda

no breads

 

just salads and grilled chicken over it with no dressing

 

watch the proportions too. i like to eat. best believe it. but watch the proportions because that is what is going to hit you.

to summerize and streamline whats already been said...

 

4 to 5 smaller meals a day to boost metabolism. crunches in the morning. stay away from coke and pepsi as well as orange juice and drink a lot of water. 'cut down' alcohol consumption (hard stuff is just as bad as beer), you don't have to stop. and the most important thing you need to do is cardio, get a bike. a bike will burn a lot of calories and work your abs and 'tone' your upper body at the same time.

and what you eat is not as important as when and how much of it.

 

metabolism. crunches. cardio.

I'm getting a gut too, and I don't drink that much beer. Worse off though is that my digestion is so volatile, it seems like everything I eat is making my stomach upset. I think I am even gonna go to an Ayurvedic specialist for a strict diet plan that will balance out my elements.

It seems like every time I go on some kick to get in shape and lose weight, I end up miserable. I can't do it - I just have to try to remember to be healthy overall.

Please don't starve yourself or take diet pills. They may show results in your weight, but your face and skin will look terrible - the healthy glow will be gone. Alot of my skinny friends have very pasty skin, and I can tell that they are not eating right. Don't go on a fad diet - it's useless, and its not healthy internally.

Maybe you should just cut the beer down a bit. If you have a normal metabolism your body will probably adjust back to the way it was.

As far as exercise: I hate being stuck to one thing - BORING! It's more fun to mix things up - go running one day, swimming the next, yoga the next - and stretch! Skate, bike, dance, and be active. You will feel better and have more energy. But for your abs: do crunches, and leg lifts (both at a time), bicycles (keep your arms flat on the ground and keep your calves parallel to the ground) - you'll work the whole stomach and the leg lifts and cycles will also strengthen your back. Arms - push ups, pull ups, curls, swimming.
