an bit of a departure for you.
I would have figured you'd pull some stats
on just how many 11 year old boys have an AK in Africa right now.

    like this from unicef...

One reason for this is the proliferation of light weapons. In the past, children were not particularly effective as front-line fighters since most of the lethal hardware was too heavy and cumbersome for them to manipulate. A child might have been able to wield a sword or a machete but was no match for a similarly armed adult.

However, a child with an assault rifle, a Soviet-made AK-47 or an American M-16, is a fearsome match for anyone. These weapons are very simple to use. The AK-47 can be stripped and reassembled by a child of 10. The rifles have also become much cheaper and more widely available—having few moving parts they are extremely durable and have steadily accumulated in war zones.

Since their introduction in 1947, around 55 million AK-47s have been sold; in one African country, for example, they cost no more than US$6 each.9 The M-16 is just as ubiquitous, and has been described by one military historian as the "transistor radio of modern warfare."10

ps- i don't know how many of you get sundance channel, but
they have a documentary on the man and his penile extension.

"Cheap, easy to handle and durable under extreme conditions, the invention of the AK-47 assault rifle changed the course of the second half of the twentieth century. German filmmakers Axel Engstfeld and Herbert Habersack visit Mikhail T. Kalashnikov, the AK-47's 80-year-old designer now living in obscurity in the Ural Mountains, and document how his creation became the weapon of choice of warriors in conflicts around the globe, from Taliban resistance guerrillas in Afghanistan to street criminals in Los Angeles. They're very readily available.

A freind of mine owns 2. Only problem is that they come without the ability to switch into fully auto I believe, a problem easily fixed with a bar of metal.

I thought street sweepers were uzis? Anywho I love the ak-47! It's as durable and reliable as a shotgun. I've shot through several big logs in a row with this thing... powerful as fuck! And it's not annoyingly loud like the m-16. The only thing I don't like is the m203-esqe sighting. But that can easily be changed. That ak-47m looks badass! And that pkmsn... That last one the elephant trunk looking gun must be one of those new-fangled around the corner shooters.

i saw an interview w/ him.. kinda goofy guy.

he was pissy about the chinese stgelaing his design.

they also interviewed a bunch of americans that were pissy cause it was suck a superior gun, and it is what gave the gov't the motivation to design the m16
