Who would want a more effective transit system, or heck even better schools than the ones in Oakland that are filled with black mold and so outdated that kids need umbrellas in the class room when it rains. God forbid kids who have to ride insufficiant transit systems and attend substandard schools get a hold of any paint and commit acts of lawlessness on the freeways. Cause as I said before, freeways are the best stuff ever, just ask jehova, allthough Im thinking Satan has a twinkle in his eye for them. But were not talking religion here, were talking about sending kids to prison and jail for painting freeways. Because lawlessness on freeways will not be tolerated and it makes more sense to send young people passivley yet effectivley voicing frustration to the system with the largest nonviolent offender population world wide, and these people deserve to have their lives wasted at taxpayer expense. And the HUGE amount of money it takes to send young people to prison and jail often out weighs the so called ' Damage ' done. And thats another funny thing, its property getting destroyed in you lawlessness stoppers eyes, but in all actuallity the majority of it is alltering the appearence while adding layers of paint that protect said surface...

Glass Etch---If you only paint legals, it sounds like to me guys like old Jury Duty have got you toeing the line, unless you don't want to bomb some glitzy neighborhood. Quite frankly, I don't blame you though. The penalties for malicious mischief and vandalism just seem to keep climbing higher and higher. Truthfully, before I found 12 oz., I had no idea the penalty for graff could be so severe. What do you attribute that to? I think that the theory that the government is trying to influence the feeling that the city is out of control is correct. When people see a lot of graff, especially gang tags, they feel like the area is becoming dangerous. It's evidence that there are a great number of lawbreakers or what the general public perceives to be predators in the area, or close by. They get annoyed and start calling the cops for every little thing. The cops apply heat, to get the writers to move away from the cops' precinct, so that the civilians won't be bugging them all the time.

Like I said before, if you don't hit personal property, the heat index falls quite a ways.

In my final statement, I feel the course of action your endorsing to end so called "lawlessness" on freeways is far more damaging and counterproductive to the intrests you are seeking to protect. The prison system in this country is due for a much needed over haul as well as the laws sending people there. In fact much of our society is in need of a overhaul. Regrettably this contradicts most commecial based intrests and is not happening fast enough. In the result corps. get richer and remain secure, while the citizens of this country suffer. while you feel lawlessness on the freeways is unacceptable, i feel that needless suffering of a substantial portion of the population when resources are diverted to corporate profit, borders on a crime against humanity. Keep in mind I have the constitutional right to arm myself to the teeth and join a armed malitia, I have no desire to hurt or inflict violence on anyone. I have experienced the atrocitys that provoked the three strikes law first hand, as im pretty sure you have not.

Lets be real here, im white and came up in a well of family. 3 generations of my family can be traced back to this centurys wars. I work and pay my taxes. I really want whats best for all citizens of this country and dont see the authoritys really putting any effective effort to resolve what it has the resources to. Well Glass Etch, as a upper middle class anglo saxon who commutes exclusivley by myself on freeways, my eyes are burned at the lawlessness that abounds with people painting them.
