...i can definitely understand how one could

fall asleep during it....or why some find him...whatever....

i think you either like his stuff, or hate it.

i'm into super 8, so maybe i'm more susceptible to that gritty super 8 look...

i thought the main guy from trainspotting was awesome in it....and mr. herzog too...his voice...

and..just the images he captures........which is what his movies are really about anyhow.....yea....

i thought the paper bag thing in american beauty was amazing.....

...my friend describes it.. as gummo.. with a plot.

but.. not.. gummo.. in the sense that the camera work isnt as good.

i dont "speak art" well.. in terms of referencing certain things by name

but at the beginning of the film.. theres this odd still frame.

it made reference to this (i think danish) film school of thought.. where everything is real.. so.. theres no.. added light sources.. props.. etc.

i know harmony corrine is into that kind of stuff. but.. i dont get it.. i talked to a friend about it and the film didnt seem to fit the criteria.

..the name of the school is at the tip of my toungue.. i know one of you will know.

anyways.. just trying to keep this going.

heh.....i'm really not tearz.....maybe a tiddlybit...

it should be noted while on the subject that harmony knows his shit cold.

not that that makes him whateverwhatever...

....¨anyhoo....·

i guess not too many people have seen this or

care to remember/discuss.....

as far as dogma films....bobby, you should check them

out if you haven't already...

forget the manifesto.....rent them and just soak them in.....

i've seen mifune,the celebration,and the idiots......and all of

them were very deserving of the time they occupied.

any 3 of those are definitely worth the $5 rental.

I was looking around their website a while ago and I think I read something about that.

I can't remember exactly what, but it was something to the effect that they thought it followed their rules.

..detail, details lush...

maybe i'm wrong. i thought

i read somewhere straight from

harmony's mouth in an interview

about it that the pregnant girl

was the only thing that could've

come under dispute, becuz

she's not really pregnant in real

life, thus violating the vow of

chastitiy in some minor manner.

he wanted to get her pregnant in

real life to keep it as pure as possible.

obviously it hasn't mattered in the end...

poo.

I have seen Julien Donkey Boy and think it's main asset lies in it's clever, catchy title. I can imagine children everywhere singing Julien Donkeyboy at the top of their lungs with their striped knee-length stockings exposed and Julien Donkeyboy temporary tatoos brandished on their cheeks. it is pretty bizarre, but I liked it in an odd sort of way. the sad part is that for all it's "donkey" posturing and hyperbole, there was not even a scene invlolving the trademark "donkey punch" this, to me, should discount it from serious consideration.

Hmmm... I would like to get my hands on a copy of this video. I liked Gummo a lot, and Kids was interesting. I read Harmony's book "Crack Up at the Race Riots" and parts of it are pretty hilarious, despite that it lacks any form or structure in it's writing.

Fragmented thoughts and unfinished creations are frequently more entertaining to me because it leaves me with things to ponder. I like the stuff he has done, and the people that he has chosen to work with in his projects.
