Plus a few others in this thread. Alot of your stuff to me seems really generic, and just boring. Thats not to say that you're not talented or a good artist, quite honestly i think youre really great..you have a good handle on what youre doing and you do it well. i dunno, thats just a quick thought..its tough to say, i've only seen what you've shown so i dunno, dont take what i say to personally or nothing. The technique rivals a good percentage of good painters, and the girl and the chair is by far the strongest piece, but the rest seem like something you'd find in a pop culture arts festival. I believe bojangles meant to create art coming from and for youself emotionally not creating are to keep personally. Spill out onto a canvas rather than paint cool for people. Maybe try working on your compositions, colours & subject matter a bit more? Girl with the chair is by far your best piece in here, Thriller one rocks too! It's good that the pop icon paintings can pay the bills... but yknow...they are what they are. I would concentrate on painting from life more instead of photos. or sketch from life for reference and paint from your sketches just my 2 cents keep it up. I think if you keep the works you post in the Untitled most people are pretty well mannered and always up to provide and accept criticism. I wish Untitled had more traffic because I find myself only wanting to lurk here and it becomes very limited. The Michael Jackson piece is really great but I would venture to say that it's a little "bright" for Thriller? Perhaps it's the photo and it's different in person. The lips/mouths for most of the zombies look a bit weird to me. Maybe it's because I'm looking at freakin zombies....LOL I'm sure there's an MJ fan out there willing to pay good money for it as-is.
