I was going to make a thread before called:

Please give it a rest Bob about Bob Marley.

Well not the man himself, but the people who keep

putting out a greatest hits disc ever 2 years. We get it already

I'm so sick of hearing the fratboys playing Bob Marley to death.

There's so much good reggae from that era that never gets played.

Burning Spear and Third World are far better bands than Bob's backups.

Give them a shot, you'll be glad you did.

but then... I just heard the Jamrock disc by Damian Marley,

and I'm glad that the Marley line is still making tunes.

yeah... I've probably been sleeping on this one... but I'm wide awake now.

It's so good to hear modern reggae that isn't the usual 'hate-everything'

dancehall or the whitewashed Sean Paul bullshit. Yeah.... cop this album.

i'm sorry, but no matter how much i try to like reggae, i can't. i just don't get it. reggae just makes me want to kick the shit out of the stereo. even back in the day when my every waking hour was dedicated to taking way too many drugs, i still couldn't put up with it. it's up there with techno in the "if you play this garbage in my presence i am going to murder you in your sleep for having no taste" category.

My high school ceramics class.......oh man, my teacher played a greatest hits Bob CD to death. i cringe whenever I hear "Buffalo Soldier" or "I shot The Sheriff" Those songs are what "Hotel California" is to rock.....played the fuck out. Funny how uptight yuppies'll put on a Bob Marley cd and suddenly think they are so in touch with the black man. Ha ha.
