A basic Craps strategy would be only betting on the best bet (the pass, Don't Pass, Come or Don't Come bet, with odds), the ones with the lowest house edge. But that will soon become boring so most players look for other ways to successfully wager. The most basic of strategies is to reduce the house edge as much as you can. To accomplish this always take (or lay) Odds bets, a Odds wager of equal value to your original bet reduces the casino's advantage on Pass Line, Don't Pass, Come and Don't Come bets from 1.4% to 0.85%. If you wager even larger amounts on the dds bet you will reduce the house edge even more. Here are some press-up strategies: For the following Strategy to work; we assume the shooter is trying to make his/her point, and rolls a 6 four times before he/she sevens out. Further you are going to bet a Place bet of $12 at 7 to 6 odds. Straight Press Take your winnings as you hit. 4 rolls win at $14 per roll is $56 The shooter sevens out, you lose $12 Result is a net gain of $44 The Quick Jump Press Add your winnings plus some to your initial wager. 1st win Win $14 Add $4 Press to $30 ($12 + $14 win + $4) 2nd win Win $35 Keep $5 Press to $60 3rd win Win $70 Keep $10 Press to $120 4th win Win $140 Weep $140 Stay at $120 The shooter sevens out and you lose $120 Results in a Win of $155, and a loss of $120 For a net gain of $35 The Slow Press Add only the winnings to your original bet. 1st win Win $14 Keep $2 Press to $24 2nd win Win $28 Keep $4 Press to $48 3rd win Win $56 Keep $44 Press to $60 4th win Win $70 Keep $70 Stay at $60 The shooter sevens out and you lose $60 Results in a win of $120, and a loss of $60 For a net gain of $60 Memorize it.
