casekonly
ok, it's time for me to get a new job, and i don't really care about the pay. so, i'm kinda trying to brainstorm ideas for an ideal job for a writer. so far: kinko's (or any print shop), a sherwin williams store, lowe's (home depot, etc) and that's where it ends....i can't think of any more beneficial for supplies... anyone want to brainstorm with me? casekonly
if there were a paint manufacturing plant around, i'd jump on it, but none that i can find.... maybe i'm thinking too small?
TheoHuxtable
Work for the graffiti buffer team with the orange vests. In Cali the biggest team is known as CalTrans. Paint over all the graffiti except for your own or anyone from your crew.

SilentBob
A friend of mine works as a buffer. Seems pretty good. Entails looking at lots of porn and getting lots of free roll paint. On the otherhand rolling walls in an annoying task. But in the scheme of jobology it would cool

But in the scheme of jobology it would cool Yeah back in '92 I used to be apart of one of those "kids serving the community" organizations where we planted trees and painted over graffiti and picked up trash. I was part of the graffiti buff crew and we would paint over tons of graff. Overtime I became fascinated with the graff and ironically that's what led me to start doing it. Talk about a complete 180. :D
casekonly
nah, i can't do that stuff. i'm east coast...anyway, there aren't any buff crews here. i'm just looking for a place that i can work at for a month or two for the fringe benefits. 20% off on paint would be nice, and that's why i thought of home depot or whatever...kinko's however, would be a good place to get 18x24's done at....and sticker paper.... i think i might be aiming too low. i'm gonna start looking for some more angles on this one...there have to be. TheoHuxtable
Work as a yard worker at the local freight train layup. Then you get to bust throws and pieces in your yard worker uniform and no one's gonna suspect a yard worker walking around between the layups. I dunno I'm rambling. Yeah now that I think about it, it actually is a good idea. That is if you're specifically looking for a job that's "ideal" for a writer, as casek says. Me personally wouldn't do it, as I've stayed on the legal tip due to too many arrests. In high school I did work ideal "writer" jobs, such as working at this graffiti/hip-hop shop on Melrose. Also I-Patch, could you explain your "fuck Kaze magazine" signature?

Boring Bastard
You're thinking too small scale.........if you're going to go out of your way ...............then FUCK saving 20% on paint when you're only getting paid $8 an hr! Get a job where you have access to all types of shit to rack and then sell for the big money! I mean..........a job where you wouldn't be in direct suspicion of being the thief but where you have a good "in" to begin with! Get smart man! Get fucking smart!
