Grow a Beard Posted October 26, 2002 Share Posted October 26, 2002 man o man let me tell you guys a tale, a tale of the seven seas. no wait. let me tell you a tale of a show / event i partook in last night. it was called "the plea for peace tour" and whoa monster was it good. let me break down this night for you that was full of breakdowns: 1)the bands: a)thursday b)poison the well c)cursive d)lawrence arms e)common rider 2)the cause: a)to get petitions signed for the suicide hotline to fight depression. b)its sponsored by sub city in mhich a portion of all their proceeds go to charity. 3)how'd they play?: a)lawrence arms played first and they werent all that bad. C- b)common rider played next and they were good if you are interested in what jesse from op ivy was doing all these years. i think he should have stayed in hiding. not bad but i didnt like. D c)cursive played next and my anticipation was overwhelming. they everything you could ask for. tim kashner was amazing shaking a wet dog putting everything into his performance. the celloist won me over with her nerd like qualities and amazing cello playing ability. due to long time cursive yearning they get an A-. d)poison the well was bone breakingly good as usual. you feel the energy or at least i think it was energy, maybe sweat but you feel something. the pit opened up like a tidal wave of people. i myself like to scream and then i danced a little bit. it was fun. i love ptw so they get an A-. e)and then there was thursday, these motherfuckers played a lenghthy worthy for that of a small king or something. i didint watch them as much as i listened to them play. they sounded amazing and kept a similarity to that of their live performance and and recordings. they rocked on and all was well. throw in a few encores from these bitches and everyone called it a night. 4)anything funny happen nurseferatu?: a)well its funny youd ask. a freind of mine got kicked out for underage drinking, two other friends got trashed, i got punched in the head in the pit. i conversated with the chiquita and swapped numbers. and thats all he wrote.
