Can someone lend a hand here?

I'm super rusty on my ms-dos prompts
but isn't there an easy way to list the contents
of a folder then get a text file of said contents?
I think it's called a 'pike' or something.

could somone just give me an example of listing a folder and that commd?

    thank you very muchly.

Not sure if I understood it correctly,
    but you might try doing
    Dir/w
    or
    Dir/p

if I'm wrong I'll try some stuff tomorrow :D

sometimes people are guilty of over-zealously generalizing and categorizing.
