I'm not sure about a book..but a good way to find out how things work is to sign up for a free site..then goto a webpage you like..right-click and hit view source..paste that in your own site and create it..then like mess around with shit in the coding..take stuff away..add stuff..change stuff..and you will get a feel for how it works.

yeah, the interweb is a great place to find references. don't waste your money on a book. just start going through google.

www.good-tutorials.com can show you how to do photoshop interfaces and buttons, etc. frontpage is a good program for beginners.

i used to waste tons of moeny on books because i am a bookworm.

if you have adobe acrobat reader i can give you a lot of useful e-books on web design

You're honestly about 8-10+ years too late to get a strong hold on the market.

God bless my parents for getting me a computer/internet in grade 7.

Go to the store and pick out a couple of the larger books, and then browse through them. Whichever one you understand the most, buy it.
