ARE YOU 100% SURE THAT IF YOU DIED TODAY THAT YOU WOULD GO TO HEAVEN?

THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

1. REALIZE THAT YOU ARE A SINNER AND IN NEED OF A SAVIOR:

Ro 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Ro 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

This all began with the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. God created them perfect, there was no death or sorrow. God told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They disobeyed God and as a result, sin entered into the world. The pain which this world sees is the result of sin.

2. BECAUSE OF OUR SINS, WE DIE BOTH SPIRITUALLY AND PHYSICALLY, BUT GOD SENT HIS SON TO TAKE OUR PUNISHMENT AND GIVE US A CHANCE NOT TO HAVE TO GO TO HELL.

Ro 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Ro 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Every person who has ever lived is a sinner and is not righteous because we do bad things. A sin is a crime against God, just as if you steal something at the store, it is punishable by going to jail. It's the same thing with sin. Even if we lie one time, the punishment is hell, which is a prison for those who commit crimes against God. No matter how well you live your life from then on, you have already committed a sin which will be punished if you are not pardoned. If you commit a crime, and then live as a good citizen you still will go to jail for the crime you committed. Right? Just as the president can pardon a crime so you won't go to jail, Jesus can pardon your sins so that you do not go to hell, and can go to heaven when you die.

3. IF WE WILL ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST AS OUR LORD WITH OUR MOUTHS AND BELIEVE IN OUR HEARTS THAT HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD, BY DOING THIS WE ARE RECEIVING HIM:

Ro 10:9,10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: {power: or, the right, or, privilege}

(KJV)

You cannot get to heaven by being a good person, going to church, baptism or any other way other than by turning to Jesus and asking Him to forgive you for your sins and save you. While these are good things to do, some people believe that they will get to heaven if they do these things, but the bible says that there is only one way to heaven and that is through receiving what Jesus Christ did on the cross for you.

Will you do that today? If you will, you can be 100% sure that you will go to heaven when you die.

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED ON THE CROSS AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD FOR YOUR SINS? DO YOU ACCEPT WHAT HE DID FOR YOU TO PAY FOR YOUR SINS?

4. If you are willing to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior please pray this right now, from your heart to God,

"Dear LORD JESUS, I believe that YOU died on the Cross and Rose from the dead for my sins. I ask you to come into my heart and forgive me for my sins, take me to heaven when I die. I now receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus holy name, Amen."

If you prayed that prayer from your heart to God, and meant it with all of your heart, you are now a child of God and will go to heaven when you die.

Now that you are on your way to heaven, you should attend a bible believing church and follow in baptism.

You have a poor understanding of religion. You don't "trust" in the Buddha like he's some sort of sacred deity that will bring enlightenment based on faith aline, that's not what Buddhism is about at all.

I find it funny, when fundamentalist Christians try to attack Buddhism they always incorrectly assume people worship the Buddha as a god like Christians worship Christ.

By the way, Jesus' story is neither unique nor historically true. The Bible was never meant to be interpretted literally, nor in a pick-and-choose fashion.

and anyone curious about conversations between christianity and buddhism should look up the writings of dt suzuki and thomas merton.

Merton-

Zen and the birds of Appetite. I personally don't like the book, but if you need an introductory path to buddhism in relation to christianity, it's pretty good.

you try and defend Buddhism which seems to be a far less legitimate religion than Christianity, as we clearly see by the mass amount of people who DONT believe it, and you strike down Christianity in one sentence trying to claim The Bible is inaccurate. you dont give support for Buddhism, or support for why Christianity is false. so why not just click the poll, and quit babbling?

My wife found this on My Space. It is true greatness.

"Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a radio personality who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22 and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a east coast resident, which was posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as informative:

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them:

When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15:19- 24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? - Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging. "

YEAH... great argument there hotshot, the amount of people who believe in a religion has absolutely nothing to do with it's legitimacy, especially when Christianity is founded on some weird worldview that you must go to every last corner of the world to convert everyone to believe the same thing you do, homogenizing every unique culture to be like the Europeans. Read 'The Pagan Christ' if you want arguments about why Christianity is "false" (I never said it was completely false, what I meant was a literalist interpretation of it is false; allegorically/symbolically it's true), I'm not going to type up a whole book's worth of arguments.

By the way, there is nothing in Christianity or Buddhism that would prevent somebody from practicing both.

That's not true. Buddists believe in re-encarnation and nirvannah which are contrary to God's word. They also believe in a form of meditation which is unscriptural, leaving the mind open to demonic influence. They also teach that instead of going to heaven, you can reach a state of nirvannah. I'm sure that there are more differences but the most inportant one is that they don't aknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Demonic influence huh? I forgot we were still living in the Middle Ages, back when no one could read and the Church was the law of the land.

If you want to study heaven, you have to study mysticism. There's mystics from all religions around the world. Meditation is one way people reach the mystic state.

Whats' the point of this whole poll anyway? You're asking a question whose answer only pertains to two major religions: Christianity and Islam. Other religions have different questions and different answers and don't necessarily coincide with your western worldview. Believe it or not, a lot of cultures have no concept of "heaven" or "afterlife" like the way you see it, or are just not concerned with it.

Your mistake reveals your ignorance. Most Buddhists do not feel it is necessary to believe in any dogma to be a Buddhist. Therefore, it is not necessary to believe in reincarnation to be a Buddhist. Also, you can recognize Jesus Christ as being your "Lord and Savior" and still be a Buddhist. Isn't flexibility wonderful? You try now! One... two... three... open your mind!

You stupid little monkeys...

George Carlin on religion

If you truly believe you have an open mind, and you are not atheist, I challenge you to watch these videos. I cannot see how you, a logical person, could believe in a higher power.

I fuckin' love youtube.

What are going going to do when you die and go to hell and realize that you have been lied to and it's too late?

Watch this video of people who have actually died and gone to hell and come back. I cannot see how a logical person could NOT believe in the God of the bible.

Again, I refer everyon here to DT Suzuki and Thomas Merton. One is a christian monk and the other one of the most recent major scholars on buddhism and zen.

read them.

RJ- you ever looked into either?
