Vanity
it's possible.. all i know is you want to turn off your computer and not do anything with it until you're ready to do the procedure... so turn off the comp an head off to the library for assistance. Dick Quickwood
there is a utility program that retreives stuff you delete, but i don't know the name or whether it works for mac or not. go on a website that sells computer software and look through the utilites section. Jackson
Help is at hand! Are you running Mac OS 9 or X? Either way you need Norton Utilities. There is a tool within this which is called "Unerase" Use hotline or something. -You can get hotline from tucows.com and you can use a filesearch servicehere. If you get super stuck hit my email. Good luck!

SteveAustin
yeah...Norton's the tip. don't save anything on your computer. start up your machine using the Norton disk. Norton's saved me on multiple occasions.
Guest BROWNer
yea this licks the sweatiest shit. i'm gonna hit up a bro at school who should have a norton disk. chances are i'll be back in here in a few hours for some tips if you don't mind(steve). thanks boys. Vanity
btw, i wasn't kidding about not using your comp... everything you erased leaves digital tracks of sorts and the more you use the comp, the more it covers up those tracks.

SteveAustin
browner...its not a total loss if you have to use the machine...it just decreases your chances of recovery. if you can still get your hands on that disk do it. and yea...mamerro has the most (worst) experience with this. luckily yours isn't as severe. Guest BROWNer
i won't be able to get the disk until monday. in between now and then i'll be doing alot of work, so as of now i'm just resigning to the fact i fucked up bad and i'm not getting my shit back. *feels the worst. SteveAustin
if you can save most of your work on disks then do that. you still might be able to recover some of it. there have been times when I've been able to recover stuff I thought was lost forever. good luck man. Guest BROWNer
haha, thanks for the optimistic positivity man.. but..i feel defeated. i honestly wouldn't know what the fuck to do if i had norton anyhow. on the flip, i had this little punk in last weekend cuz of some directory issue and paid out like 90$ and its still a bit fritzy..so maybe i'll spend some more and get them to snafu this weekend. fuckin' shit. Guest imported_El Mamerro
Fuck dude, let me see what I can do. I have Norton Utilities and can compress it into a zip file to send. Again, my host is down so I can't put up a link. Also, it's a version that only works in 9, not Classic, so you'd have to set your startup disk to OS 9 and restart. Once there it's always worked for me in terms of file recovery. I definitely do not know if it'll have any problems recovering OSX native files, but Im guessing you had TIFFs or jpegs so it should be alright. Want me to mail it? suburbian bum
Shit browner, your getting discouraged and its fucking you up. There is clearly things you can download off the net, just put it on a diff drive, i am guessing you still can get most shit back. So dont accept defeat i think you can pull out of this. Just download somthing.

Guest
It should run fine in 9.1 The main thing is that the 'Classic' mode of OSX can't actually run a bunch of apps that were created for 9.* mail checkerd mams
