HELP A TESSER OUT

So i obtained some software that is much needed but just because i got it from a kinda shady place it came in a shady form. It was a .tar file that once its uncompressed (stuffit) it gives a bunch of really weird file formats and no installers or setup icons. In the directions it sais UNTAR>BURN>INSTALL but you know how elliptical crackers can be..i'm sure they mean that you have to burn the files following some special proceedure like when you burn a cd image or something...however, no file in there is an .iso .cue or .nrg format...any thoughts? any help would be very appreciated..this is kinda important

I don't quite know what to do with tarballs either. You may have to compile them.

The file extentions are numbers, it starts from ..003 and goes to .050 theres also the .nfo file from the crackers and a .svf file...this shoul be working by now

ok, that means they are small parts to a larger archive,

there should be a file in there with .ace or .tar or .rar extract that to wherever you want it

if not, try using winrar to extract the first number

These are all the files in there, NO ACE TAR ETC

on the 12oz map, 'There be nerds here' is written over their lair.

word word. someone already said it, what you have is a bunch of different peices to one giant rar file...read the .nfo file in a wordpad format or notepad. it should tell you what you need to do.

 

if there's a .rar file in there, that's the one you want to extract from. the rest are only numbered pieces to the complete file. if you don't have it, you need to get another copy.

I use winrar for my .tar's

god, this is so hard to explain on the fucking interweb.

 

use winrar to open it

 

extract stuff to folder..run the file ending in like 001

 

then you should get the .bin and .cue file

 

then perhaps you know what to do from here/

if you have Winrar just try using it to open the first file (the one with the .001 extension) .... see what happens.

 

i see now that cloner pretty much said the same thing....

What the previous two said is right though, releases are going starting at .001 instead of .ace or .rar for various reasons, but just open the .001 with winrar and let it do the rest.
