The Hipster
and this is not the first time it has happend. a similer project from erly this year... RuggedArt is a new project, weaving together the fresh ideas of the underground art scenes of New York and London, with the thousand year old traditional techniques of Nepal. Founded by London based antique textile specialist Nat Turner, and collaborating with some of World's most exciting graphic artists, RuggedArt has launched a groundbreaking new collection of hand knotted rugs, available in limited editions of ten. The rugs are made entirely by hand, using traditional skills in the Kathmandu valley of Nepal. Knotted in hand-spun Tibetan wool, using the finest Swiss dyes, they are crafted to last a lifetime. Prices range from $22.50 to $50.00 per sq. ft. The concept of RuggedArt came to Nat through his knowledge of traditional textile art and his involvement in the New York and London street scene The explosion of graffiti and graphic design influence has created a new aesthetic and the time is right to create new pieces to reflect this shift. Instead of Ephemeral art on a wall, or hollow conceptual statement, RuggedArt rugs are a painting for your floor, a strikingly beautiful piece of furniture. Rugged Art has hand-picked a selection of the freshest, most innovative artists and graphic designers from New York and London to produce a series of limited edition, hand-woven rugs. The rugs will be exhibited in upcoming solo shows in New York, Paris, Hong Kong and Japan. Ryan McGinness Romon Kimin Yang - 'Rostarr' José Parla - 'Ease' and coming soon... seeking
the last ones alright, but it just sort of looks like a traditional rug. otherwise, all that shit is just too busy for me. unless it was the central design element, a rug like that would over power your room. i like the first one as a canvas though. Happy Greens
Those are some ugly carpets! Even if they were given to me I'd prefer not to decorate my home with them. Whats with that TOY CULTURE shit anyway, is that some sort of joke? And whats with the average graphic artist? Trends in graphic art and things of that nature, have they no sense of style? Weapon X
I tagged this graffiti fan-boy's bedroom wall with a fatcap a bit ago, and from what I hear, his parents were none too pleased with that.

Joker
Originally posted by seeking@Dec 9 2004, 01:18 PM joker, see what you get for sleeping? your idea gets stolen and hacked all to shit. :( Quoted post I don't know if they get all hacked to shit but yea... I definitely slept on this idea. Looking at those examples I think they were executed completely wrong. As if the rug was a piece of paper and they did a piece in the center of it. Especially with Zedz rug. He could have concentrated on the entire size of the rug and I think it would have made a better impact. Just my two cents. Oh well... I guess I better come up with some other lame idea to try and make some money off of. My whole game is exploitation of writing and the writing culture. You know me.
