right now my favs got to be :

danger mouse- the grey album was sick, still is and he definatly has a uniqe sound...i need to still hear "ghetto pop life" though.

scince i rumaged though old shit recently and pulled out the roc la familia cd i got to say...

just blaze- his shit gets me hyped, but at the same time, his beat have some feeling to them.

honorable mentions go out to ant, and brian eno.

word sayone

as far as the backpackers go el-p and mf doom are the best in my opinion, i love how mfdoom will just throw an intrumental on his album, no lyrics.

el-p gets mad props from me, i saw the trailer to "Bomb the System" when it was posted here...the soundtrack sounds fuckin dope no matter how doushe the movie may seem...ne know where i can pick up the score to that shit?

I have the first issue of Scratch magazine and it's preety good stuff overall.

It's a hiphop rag for dj's and producers and talks much more about the music and the gear than a year's worth of the source.

plus they made a 'scratch tablature' to break down scratches into notation.

looks promising.

Maybe I'm just a nerd, but if someone is interviewing Dr.Dre.... I want them to ask what gear he uses.
