going back to the home town

I know it means very little to the internet where I choose to enter it,

but I've traveled back... back in time... back to the hometown.

(and I'm on dial-up and feel guilty about all the images I post)

So have you ever ventured back to you home?

It feels as familiar as the back of your hand after a can has exploded and painted it bright red. You know it's your hand, but there's this cover over everything that just dosn't seem to be right.

Some places change, some dont.

I've realised that this city doesn't buff,

and if they do, it's once a year at the begining of spring.

There are painted tags (crappy ones no doubt) on the front of banks!

This is the kind of place that could be kinged again in 3 days,

and I keep telling myslef that I'll come back and do it.

But I know I wont.

One a lighter note,

A deaf man offered to smoke me a joint in front of one of my old pieces.

On a darker note,

I'm here for a wedding.

So not only will I have paint stained hands for the wedding,

the question of "So you're the next on due right?" always comes up.

That, and the sad fact that there's so few people left here who actually mean anything to me. There comes a time when everyone who matters, has left the place where they mattered. When the city becomes nothing more than memories, but every single block has seen your steps before. Where some kids are looking at the things I painted back then and watching them peel off the wall.

It's a strange thing.

I call it the post-youth stress disorder.

Weddings have a way of making you feel really old,

so do hometowns.

sick post. open bar? that's probably what got you thinking so hard. or do you always get sentimental at weddings? never been exactly through what you're saying, but it seems definitely on point. i guess it's like that for me sort of when i go back to the homeland.

^ yep. And I saw a sky full of stars and the milky way too.

I think I saw the northern lights... but it may just have been the canadian beer.
