iloveboxcars
I've always been a pretty big fan of furniture design and I figured others might also be interested. I will do what I can to keep this thread alive, but I'm hoping that it will take on a life of my own, as I get tired of babying threads (as you would notice if you read my surf/garage thread in ch0) So anyway -- here's the deal with this thread. Post pictures of shit that belong indoors. Chairs, tables, lamps, desks, book cases and whatever else. Personal projects would be amazing, but I don't think anyone here does too much design. (i feel like i made this thread already, i may be wrong.. i couldnt find it.)

iloveboxcars
decy - i dont know about the uk, but in the us we have salvage wood yards, and the wood is usually pretty cheap. if you are interested you should check something like that out. start out simple and all you'll need is a hand saw, tape measure and a hammer. Decyferon
Yea we have salvage/reclaimed timber places, but it still costs money and at the moment I only work job market is do bad my wife can't find work, so not really any spare cash for hobbies. Have spotted old bits of wood in skips etc which was tempted to use as canvas or maybe try carving something.

Decyferon
I showed my wife those pics of the stuff your dad did, she was well impressed. Things like that bookcase sell for a lot, I have seen things that don't look better than his that sell for about £800 ($1500) easy.

Rolf Harris
P.E your dads stuff looks really good... i've got a few ideas for tables and stuff that i need to get cracking on. the lack of space is really the only issue... ripped out a kitchen last month with solid oak doors, and i'm fuckin' kicking myself for not taking them away with me, i could've ripped them doon and laminated them together for something... Banana fishd
I like this thread. I will post here. I also like Alexander Girard. He designed bootiful spaces and stuff to put in your house. This identity for Le Fonda Del Sol-SO GOOD: Flor's A. Girard's Le Fonda rug. This chair's textiles he did for Herman Miller, MAH! Girard's dolls he made for his home that are now available through Vitra. These would look good on my shelves. Textiles he designed for Herman Miller. Banana fishd
Brick house Blogger's home is the most wonderfully designed place on the internet. I love that it is modern and earthy. Yeah. I used the word earthy. Guest Bedroom Living room. Den PS. I am not entirely sure if we can post photo's of just interiors (thass what I am doing). So um. All that furniture. IZ GOOD... Banana fishd
Chirp Chirp. One more and I am done for the day Hans Olsen's Safari Chair. So bootiful and appropriately named. Double Butter furniture. They doing that walnut wood and pastel color kick. It's a pretty popular idur right now with furniture design but Double butter was the first company that I saw it from that made me think wow-neat-I buy that if I had da cash money. David Derksen's Oxidized mirror project. I want this. I want to try to make it but I am afraid of blowing myself up.
Soup forgot his password
Yo bfish'd! Long time no see. Those pieces in the second post are excellent. Safari chairs were part of the inspiration for the original concept "Churchil" in sf. Just finished the website http://churchillsf.com/ In other news I signed up for a few classes at the crucible. I hope to build a couple steel legged, live edge wood table tops for my new apartment. Just a little sourcing the wood slabs and mig welding so it should be easy enough.
