Bull: What were you doing up there on the tracks? (as he exits his car gun drawn)

Agent: Oh I was just watching that train go by.

Bull: Watching the train?!?!? (dumbfoundedly lowers gun)

A: Yeah, was I not supposed to be up there? Sorry about that.

B: Well why were you up there.

A: I was watching the train go by.

    B: Why?

A: Um, cause trains are cool. I like to look at things I like.

B: Yeah well uh, why were you up there in the first place.

A: I WAS WATCHING THE TRAIN GO BY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you are right and wrong...most people that are hired by private companies for security think they are cops. i wouldnt be surprised if he wasnt even supposed to have a gun. kinda silly if you ask me.

agreed. but if you know that one place you get slapped with a $300 buck fine, and in another you get to spend time shooting the proverbial shit with the guy, you see just how random it is and the kind of people you are dealing with.

but being amazed by something like that? it would be like wondering why you caught a beatdown at a ja rule show for wearing a klan mask.

    "I'M REALLL" haha

just a suggestion, but a little more convincing answer might have helped you out some. short, seemingly cocky answers seldom make things better when your in the wrong to begin with. if you had been apologetic, he probably would have been a bit cooler.

if he was a RR cop, then he's allowed to carry a gun, because unlike rent-a-cops and other security juice monkeys, he's a police officer and he gets to arrest you and shoot you if you attack him....but i'm a little surprised he came out with his gun drawn right off the bat....blame that on the steroids or september 11th...whatever you prefer.

Yeah, either 9/11 or basic Joe Hero, power-trip syndrome.
You could perhaps have elaborated on why you were watching the train, since that response alone wasn't making the dude relax. The second time he asked, I would have added, "I'm a railfan, I just like to watch the trains." If that calms him down a bit continue to play the role and ask if there is a spot nearby where you could watch the trains and not be bothering anybody, and apologize for being in an out of bounds area. That should defuse things nicely. He'll shift to merely irritated or contemptuous. I'd rather have someone with a gun on me irritated or contemptuous than angry or underinformed as to my motives.

I read the conversation again and I guess that's pretty much what you did. Just one of those days I guess. Nothing to be really surprised about though.

And keep your hands where he can SEE them. Don't ever jump bad with a railroad bull. Half the time they are scared shitless, especially at night. They are out there supposedly protecting the railroad's property with nothing but a 9mm and a walkie-talkie, and acutely aware of the fact that there probably is no back-up for at least fifteen minutes. Put yourself in his shoes, and you'd probably have your hand on your pistol too. I NEVER give cops any shit, all it does is increase the chances of getting a ticket or getting arrested and charged with some kind of charge. You treat them with respect, most of the time, they will treat you with respect. Remember, most violent criminals are young. Old geezers like me very rarely commit a violent crime. If you are a teenager, you "fit the profile." So be careful.

Im not saying Im suprised I got fucked with, I actually saw him coming and tried the old 'casually walk away' routine. I just thought it was a little odd that he felt the need to pull a gun on a tresspasser in broad daylight.

Thats a horrible example. The klan has a history of killing and harrasing the stereotypical jarule fan, black people. They would be perfectly justified in killing me if I showed up in klan outfit.
Do bulls have a history of being repressed and murdered by railfans?
I think thants really REALLY fucked up you would even dare to make the comparision. Not only are you making bullshit excuses for "security juice monkeys" (HA) but you insult the terror imposed upon blacks in this country by the klan and thier collaboraters (cops,bulls...)

And as far as what you said about him supposed to be there and me not,
fuck all that. Just cause some land grabbing rail tycoon stole the land doesnt mean Im gonna respect it!!!!

Agent Uprise---Sorry, guy, I can't go with you on this one. I have absolutely NO SYMPATHY for the Klan, but we supposedly live in a free country and nobody, regardless of how fucked up their opinions, deserves to be killed because they offend somebody else. I think the proof of the basic common decency of most black Americans is that if the ignorant ass Klansman was to wear his robe and mask down their street, they WOULDN'T kill him. They might call him a bunch of names, or try to express their disgust at his bad manners, but if they even so much as touched him, they cross the line from outraged protest to assault. I don't buy your argument about the Klan oppressing black people. Have you ever actually SEEN a Klan rally? I have, at a Women's Day rally and convention in Houston, in 1976. They marched in full robes, men, women and children, with flags and banners, right up Louisiana street into a sea of radical feminists, Left wing radicals and socialists, including a few (very few) black women. They were outnumbered about a hundred to one, and their pathetic attempts to assert "white supremacy" almost made one feel sorry for them.
In the last fifty years or so, the Klan could not possibly have killed more than twenty-five or so people. Black gangsters kill about a hundred black kids a year in Houston alone. Nationally, it's in the tens of thousands. Gang warfare is murdering and maiming thousand upon thousands of black teenagers and by-standers every year. You tell ME who is the greater danger. The modern Klan is a pathetically small remant of a shameful past. The Crips and Bloods and the Latin Kings and all the rest of the gangs are drenched in blood. "Increase the Peace." My ass. It's about DOPE and MONEY. They are murderers. If the liberals gave a rat's ass about minority kids they would be screaming to have all gangsters in prison. But they won't because they know that the gang wars are a gigantic threat to the Second Amendment. The criminals only comprise about one-tenth of one per cent of the 70 MILLION American gun owners, most of whom are lily white, and law-abiding. Once the liberals have everybody disarmed, what do you suppose comes NEXT? Why are guns such a danger in the hands of minorities "oppressed" by the Klan, and no danger at all in the hands of the 60-something million white gun owners? Answer: CULTURE. It is not acceptable to most Americans, in 2002, to use a firearm on somebody who "disses" you. But that is not true about the "gangsta rap" gangbanger element. You need to re-focus. The weak-ass Klan is no genuine danger to blacks--but the gangs are a tremendous danger, to blacks, and everybody else.

i've been in several situations where a cop has pulled his gun on me..

once in a yard (we were cool, he didn't know we were there to paint, didn't see our bags, left us alone..)

and another time i got hemmed up on th estreet with a friend..the cop ended up threatening us with the gun, and after my friend started mouthing off, he put it in his mouth..

    we were eventually let go..

i've learned when police, security, and vigilante citizens are pissed off, they're pretty much down to fuck with you in every way possible

being completely cooperative(or pretending to), and respectful has been the one thing that's gotten me out of those situations
