>>> FRESH MAINE CENTRALS <<<

FR8HOUND

Recommended Posts

Was at the yard yesterday when suddenly my jaw hit the street..Low and behold a line of 10 Maine Centrals came up to the hump..these werent the old ones, 10 cars, origionally built in 10/79..Freshly re painted, new color scheme, charcoal grey, freshly painted 6, 7 2004..you could still smell the paint on them..All were clean, not even a Solo Artist moniker on them..but give that some time, I'm sure he'll get them..Anyways I havent seen anyone with one in their post's, so I thought I'd share them with ya, not sure if anyone has seen these yet..One thing I know, that with the color scheme, anything would look really dope on them....enjoy..also included a Scep piece that was on the last car after the MEC's....

yeah, these looked like they were just coming from getting painted..I mean you could smell them really good, I watched the worker at the hump, in that pic, slap his hand on the boxcar, left a print, in a way , to kind of see if they were really fresh, like the paint was soft..I'm not sure where there are shops located that re paint cars..like if certain rr's ship them elsewhere..when they re paint them, rather than ''in shop''...but they started humping them, then stopped, backed them up, they sat for 10 min. seemed to me, as I was listening to the loudspeaker at the hump, that they werent too sure where they were going, what line, out of 70 to track them to..I already got my sights on these babies..Im bound to nail one sooner or later..

does this look like it could have been an old orange tropicana?

...i don't think so...doesn't apear to be a refridgeration unit on it and i don't believe the orange tropicana's were extended length like that...

...fr8hound...i can't tell exactly from your flicks, but, did all those MEC's have consecutive numbers?...it looks like the first one is 200 00 and then the next is 200 01... which would denote that these were the first cars from a new series...pretty nice...hope to see these myself soon...

ok so i have done one of the white boston and maines......they are exactly the same but with a different scheme and they say boston and maine, not maine central. are these just totally different cars or are they repainting them? the one i did had hella rust and some old throwies on it.....so it wouldn't suprise me if they are actually repainting the old ones. damn the charcoal grey is hot......green scheme on them bitches........whoooooooot. i just hope my piece rides long enough on that fucker...........and if not, then i hope i get one of the new ones.
