Freestyle running / Le Parkour

In my endless procratination, I just caught the end of a doco about this 'extreme sport'. It basically entailed a bunch of people preforming death defying acrobatics in an urban enviroment. The philsophies they were talking about were along the same lines of what some writers and skaters and urban explorers talk about. i.e. redefining the urban environment and breaking free of its monotoney ect...

That aside though the stuff they were doing was just ballsy which always makes for good entertainment.

If you'de like a more articulate explanation go here

and here some pics ( even though they don't really do the doco justice )

Sorry I don't really know where you can get your hands on it. You might have to go for a hunt if your really keen. But the name of it is Jump London . I saw it on the discovery channel.

heres a little review

http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/m.../J/jump_london/

Gamblers, when I saw it. It did seem a bit silly. But then I thought alittle and decided its no more silly then crawling around drains or running around drawing on things or nadding yourself on a stair rail while trying to slide down it on a piece of wood.

Also the way they were doing it was pretty full on. Like graffiti, you tend to take it more seriously when you realise people risk serious injury doing it.

But thats what I thought... make of it what you will.

Nah, the people who really do this shit are badass.

Those few pictures posted look lame, but have

you guys seen that one Nike commercial for

the shoe Dalek (I think it was that shoe) was doing

the advertising for? The guys in that look like

they're at least 24-25 and the stuff they were

doing honestly looked like fun... and if you

were used to jumping off of odd objects onto

other odd cement objects all the time from all

sorts of heights and angles escaping jakes

would be second nature. Basically I look at it

like making the city your fucking jungle gym,

why the fuck not?

They really take this stuff serious in Europe, right?

Pay no heed to the gay pics, that shit is insane.

I have a clip of this one dude doing a backflip off a structure that's at least 25 ft. high, onto flat hard-packed dirt. It's ridiculous.
