AREANKAY
So I'm thinking while I'm laid up all broken I will spend my time in other ways then getting drunk and falling off my bike and breaking bones. So I got to thinking about getting a fish tank for the house and hooking it up with some crazy tropical fish and what now. Thing is I know nothing so I come here. Who has a fish tank, I'm not talking anything crazy huge just somthing standard size, with some wild fish to put in it, what's the price range on the tanks and accsesories for it, stuff like that. Guest imported_El Mamerro
^Yeah... if I had the money and patience to run a saltwater aquarium I'd get a sickass octopus with a quickness. But saltwater is a HUGE pain in the ass to take care of, and the margins of error are very slim. If you want to have some fun times with freshwater, get an Oscar or a Black Convict and a few smaller inexpensive fish. Watch him ruin the shit out of everything else in a few weeks. krs702
maintaining a saltwater aquarium is not that hard it just comes down to your laziness the money part is def a pain but it all matters on what type of setup you want. the problem when you start browsing the saltwater section only to realize how much more you want everything in the fucking ocean. once you get a saltwater aquarium up its a prolonged enjoyment because shit grows like creatures you didn't realize existed in the tank, while in freshwater its just some new algae you hate seeing. nomadawhat
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid64/p5ae69186ae99f67366b5b5c334223d9c/fbfe2d48.jpg'> this is my set up... built this baby into the wall and all. but, nowadays there's no fish in there. the tank got ravaged by disease about, damn almost a year ago. i still haven't re-upped on fish. fish are not all that exciting. so for now it just sits there filtering water. i think i'll go get some more cichlids soon. those fish are ok.... they are aggressive so they chase each other around and get territorial. i'll do saltwater someday. Jackson
With a salt water tank, do you have to clean it and that or is it self-doing because of the salt?
Teh0wnz
Has anyone ever made some sort of water in/outlet with a filter device on it, to take the hassle out of cleaning the whole fish tank? My family and I were just talking last week about getting rid of our cat (you know how we get rid of cats) so we can have something cooler like a saltwater fishtank.... or one of those Jackson Chameleon things, with the beady ass eyes.... ah beady eyes. Drunk Sober
by the time the water is conditioned, you'll be better. That shit takes like a month. Saltwater tanks are so nice, but it does take some time and a lot of commitment. I have a 60 gallon tank, its in storage right now. It had fish in it till i moved. I needed a way bigger tank by then anyway, like a 200 gallon for my fish. I had 2 south american peacock bass and a south american red tailed cat fish. The bass were about 2 inches max when I got them. 1 year later, they were about 1 foot long! Between the 3 fish, they could eat $5 of feeders every other day, that's 100 fish!! One of the bass got fucked up somehow and was floating wierd and upside down for like a week. I finaly decided to put it out of its missery. It was starting to rot and shit, but still hella alive. I took it out and smacked it on the cement at the top of our stairs. That fucker wouldn't die so I threw it off the 2nd floor. That shit sucked! Those fish were so smart, they new when i brought home feeders and they always came to the side of the tank where I was sitting to chill with me. CinchedWaist
what i would want, if i was ever rich (which won't happen) is to have a giant, circular tank full of little jellyfish. with soft blue and deep red lights in the tank so it makes em look that color. whenever i see em at the aquarium they make me drowsy...so to have em in a bedroom would be perfect. oh, look at this and discuss. i don't know if any of you have seen goldfish science weirdness so what do you think? did it come back alive or did the battery just give it a jolt? yes, i do feel sorry for the little fishie, but i am intrigued.
