VANCOUVER - A 14–year–old girl faces years of reconstructive surgery after being viciously mauled by two massive massif–rottweilers in East Vancouver over the weekend.

Shenica White and her friend Natasha Tonsoo – also 14 – were walking home from a slumber party at about 1 a.m. Sunday morning when they were attacked by two unleashed dogs. One dog bit one of the girls. Scared, she jumped up on a parked car. That only agitated the dogs further, and both went on the attack. Natasha was not physically injured.

Shenica underwent eight hours of surgery at Vancouver General Hospital on Sunday, and is listed in stable condition. Plastic surgeon Dr. James Boyle says it almost looked like she had lost the right side of her face. He says part of her scalp was torn away, the nerves in her left arm were badly damaged and she had lost more than a third of her blood. "This is the equivalent of a bear or cougar attack. It looks like an animal looking for a meal," says Dr. Boyle. He adds the badly hurt girl has demonstrated amazing resilience, physically and emotionally. Dogs to be euthanized The dogs' owner says he's shocked by the attacks, and has agreed to allow the animals to be put down. He has also expressed his sympathy for the young victim and her family, and says he wishes he could turn back time. The dogs apparently escaped from a backyard enclosure when a guest left a gate ajar. Vancouver Police are continuing to investigate what they're calling one of the most vicious dog attacks they've ever seen. They haven't decided yet whether to recommend charges against the owner. They're still looking into how the dogs were treated, and whether they've attacked anyone else. Animal expert offers advice A man who has worked with aggressive dogs for 22 years says if you are being attacked, you should never turn your back on the animal.

Gary Gibson of Custom Canine says you should slowly back up and get as many objects between you and the animal. Gibson says most dogs learn this type of aggression from their owners. He agrees these two dogs should be put to death.

if the dog owners here dont get prison time, I'm personally going to put a brick through the window of their house. you have to breed a dog to be that savage. you can breed big dogs responsably, these people obviously didnt. and will try to skirt legal responsability for this . fuck them.

Man charged with rape of young girl

WINNIPEG - A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and kidnapping in connection with the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl on Sunday. The girl and two male friends were walking on Selkirk Avenue in Winnipeg's North End early Sunday morning when a man grabbed her. She called her mother Sunday afternoon and said she'd been sexually assaulted at a house on Pritchard Avenue. Allegations have surfaced that the attack was gang-related, but police spokesman Cst. Bob Johnson says no signs indicate gang colours actually played a role in the assault. "The 13-year-old had had contact on two occasions with this individual," he says. "This contact was very, very minor and it goes without saying that she did not want to go with this individual when he dragged her between the houses." Johnson says police are investigating allegations the girl was raped by three men.

I say they should put down the dogs and issue charges to the dogs owner.

also true and it kinda sucks the bad reputation some breeds of dogs are getting for the actions of a few bad apples..i know some dogs can be unpredictable but ive also known plenty of rottys, dobes, even pits etc that are as gentle with children as a big furry baby. the owner should be responsible if you have a dog that is considered a dangerous breed even if he didnt think they were like that.

the police picked him up on weapons charges

his mom posted bail for him the next day, and he was released

two days later the crime lab confirmed prints on a ransom note were his

he has dissappeared

the girl's body was found last week

he slit her throat in a densely wooded area early one morning

after beating her severely

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana (AP) -- Authorities said Monday they believe a woman whose body was found last month in a field near Lafayette was slain by a serial killer responsible for the deaths of three other women.

The apparent fourth victim, Trineisha Dene Colomb, 23, was reported missing November 22 after her car was found in Grand Coteau, a small town near Lafayette. Two days later, her body was found about 20 miles away by a hunter.

DNA evidence from the scene matched genetic evidence from the three other killings, which occurred in Baton Rouge, about an hour's drive east of Lafayette on Interstate 10, Lt. Craig Stansbury said.

Witnesses said they may have seen a white pickup truck near where the latest victim was found, Stansbury said. A similar vehicle was mentioned by witnesses at the other killings.

The first three victims were linked by DNA this summer, setting Baton Rouge residents on edge and leading to the creation of a special investigative task force.

A hot line for tips has received thousands of calls and police said they have checked out thousands of leads, but there have been no arrests.

The first victim, Gina Wilson Green, 41, was found strangled in her home Sept. 24, 2001. Charlotte Murray Pace, 22, was found stabbed to death in her home May 31. Pam Kinamore, 44, was abducted from her home July 12. Her throat was slit and her body dumped about 30 miles from Baton Rouge.
